I will check when I get back from my hunting trip. I am shooting 208 AMaX’s out to max mag length and it’s lights out accurate

Thinking about getting one of these. How is the hunter stock out in the field? Is it superior to a conventional stock?

I ended up liking it. I found operating the safety with my index finger was easier than other Options. It really helps with recoil.

I love the hunter stock, don’t need to choose though, right now they still have the rebate offer live through 12/31 where if you buy the hunter, you get the precision stock set for free. I bought my s20 about 6 weeks ago, and just got my precision set (both pieces) in last week. Free!

Here’s the link, it’s a Sako rebate. https://rapid-rebates.com/BE21-6568

I do like the hunter stock more though, the precision is definitely heavier. Both are nice

Anyone weighed one yet or measured mag box?
I'm curious about the mag box also
Mag is 3.61”, mine is 300 win mag. I didn’t get a naked weight but to give you an idea, right now it’s at 9.8 lbs with a Leupold VX3hd, American rifle co m-brace rings (these are heavy but I love them), and area 419 hellfire brake. It’s a heavier rifle but not something that bothers me strapped on the pack hiking in 5-6 miles. One thing for sure, I’ve never been more comfortable behind a rifle in the prone position.

Thank you for that!

Sako would've hit it out of the park if the Hunter model came in around ~7lbs naked. 10lbs+ with most scopes misses the mark quite a bit these days.

Yeah I suppose it’s all relative, wasn’t building mine as a lightweight hunting rig. If that’s what you’re shooting for, I’d look elsewhere. My tikka super light comes in at about 9.5# how I hunt with it, and have a nosler 6.5 PRC if I want to go deep and light. This Sako wasn’t built to be a super light I don’t think, it’s a chassis rifle under the skin after all. Excited to see how it does on some caribou and interior brownies next year 🤞. I’m also hoping that Sako comes out with different options down the line, they’ve hinted at it…if so, it changes the whole conversation. Carbon fiber stocks have been hinted, standard sporter stocks, etc. That’s one of the appeals of this rifle for me, endless modularity for years if Sako sticks with it. If not, I’m still happy with the hunter stock and the free precision set via the rebate. Me personally though, a couple extra pounds on the pack isn’t noticeable and can shave elsewhere if needed.

Could someone with an S-20 in hand please tell me the maximum and minimum spacing between the front and rear picatinny sections? It's an intriguing gun but having to use optiloc vice picatinny would push me to a tikka.

In the pics my rings are mounted in the center slot of each flat.
