My Sako Finnbear in 7mm Mag has been an awesome rifle but the throat is about burned out and groups are opening up.

I'm told that since it has a left hand turn it will be very difficult to rebarrl. Has anyone had experience rebarreling sako's? Thanks.

my son just had his sako 75 stainless 7mm rem mag rebarreled with a bartlein 8.5 twist smith didnt say anything about twist direction and it is crazy accurate with every and I mean every powder and bullet combo tried. h100 and retumbo ladder loads with 160 cx and 180 eldm and 183 hp all shot same point of impact and .5-.7 groups even with the ladder powder charges. took a nice [meat bull] elk and mule deer in colorado 260 yrds deer 180 eldx and elk 160 cx at 565 yrds.

Thank you for your feedback. I will get in touch with Bartlin. I already had one smith tell he could not do it because of the twist. Love this rifle, been jumping back and forth between the Sako and my abolt Browning for many years.

Plenty of custom rifles have been built on Sako actions. Sako used to sell bare actions for custom jobs. Never heard anything about left hand threads. Find a new smith

Glad that barrel is shooting well!
