This Tikka is a touch over 5lbs for under 1k.. lol

The Sako looks sweet, but over 7 is a bit chonky.

Don't mean to sidetrack, but what makes the Roughtech Superlite so much lighter (a pound?) than the regular Superlite? Can't be just the bolt fluting...

Might be that, or just bad data on the Sako site.

Here's a .308 they actually weighed. 5.88# is more like a touch under six. 6.5 CMs are showing as 5.94#, but they will verify.

And while they're at it, how about a 6ARC?
Sako is historically slow to adopt new cartridges.. But who knows, I can ask Beretta

Magic..
flutes are deeper, stock feels lighter, Everything is trimmed. I'd have to ask Beretta for the exact science.
The one i got is a good rifle, I have zero complaints ; Im perfectly okay with 1-1.5 moa for a woods beating / still hunting rifle

I just weighed the 6.5 ember, it is actually heavier than the 308 you linked, So the weight is correct on the website for the 6.5

308 has a bigger hole in the barrel = less weight

Mine just arrived today at my ffl. Pretty sweet! Dumbass Ca with the 10 day wait and additional 11% firearms tax ruined my excitement
The hunter stainless 223 is next on the list

The Finnlights are all that camo, Correct
Sako just launched the Sako Select program, So we have access to all of Tikka & Sako's catalog that was not previously imported. Stainless hunters, Grizzlys, the whole works. I'm sure that there is a rifle in the catalog for everyone's tastes

( They make a 20" stainless fluted 9.3x62 grizzly that is seriously calling my name )

Jake
Any indication of time frame on the Next shipment from Sako?

Do they have a hunter rifle with pic rails, or are they all optilock?

Can you share some info on this? I searched for them, but came up blank.

A 6.5 Grendel build on a GOOD mini action has my attention.
Sako is now making the XS(extra small) action. But as far as I can tell only in .222rem and 223. Which is pretty ridiculous considering the cost of tooling and production of an entire action/bdm/mags to only offer in two cartridges.
Offering a Grendel/arc boltface and mags would be awesome, but this is Sako….. don’t hold your breath. I do really want one of the stainless hunters with the 1:8 twist 223 though

No hunters with the pic rail, But I can now import the grizzly's
Wood stock, Pic rail, Fluted barrel, Stainless or blued, threaded or non threaded
How do I see the grizzlies?? Never even heard of it but I’ll probably order one of those!!!

My plan is to get one in 223, shoot that barrel out, and then have a smith open the bolt face and rebarrel to 22 arc
That’s what I was thinking for 6.5G. Open up the bolt face and rebarrel. Could get complicated based on what mags it took though.

A stainless micro action, done well, in 6 ARC, would really make me get into my folding money...
