I have a Sako 85 338 win mag coming and a nightforce SHV 3-10x42. Looking to mount them securely and low. Any experience with any of these on the Sako dovetails?

I use the optilocks. I prefer the one piece and I believe I even have one I’d sell if you can’t find one new. The downside is you only have one height option in the one piece. The 2 piece optilocks give you more options and also work great. I like the security of the pin and dovetail mount and I’ve yet to have one move on either of my Sako rifles.

Here is another good option:

I have a 338 win mag as well and it worked great. If you want pics just shoot me a PM

I have a Sako 85 Finnlight in 300 Win Mag and have the OptiLock extended base and rings and have plenty of room moving my ZEISS 3-15x42.
Leopold makes a nice 1 pc mounting system for $149, just looked at those yesterday

If you get the 2p optiloc mount, be aware that the forward mount is tapered, and you'll want to start with the ring mounted centered on the forward mount as it's tapered from right to left. Moving the forward ring to the rear on the slot will move impact left, while moving it forward will shift impact to the right. Moving it all the way forward or all the way back can result in huge windage shifts.

This is pointed out nowhere by Sako that I was able to find.

Just watch your scope length, my Sako 75 in 300 RUM, is really a long action, shorter scopes won't work well with the 2 pc Optiloc.
I just saw the post a few above here and didn't realize they made an extended base.

I bought a S&B Klassik 3-12 and the scope was too short.

I had to hold the front ring back just a touch on the scope I ended up using, which was the PM II 10x42.
