I’ve been hearing a lot of good about these arrows through out the community, ordered some test kits to play with. But I’m curious does anyone know who makes these arrows for safari tuff? I couldn’t find any other arrow model that matches the gpi of these?

I'm guessing there are a couple factories that make 90% of the arrows and various manufacturers order to their specs.

Technical clothing is made at the same factories. When I was visiting India I met someone who worked with one of these companies. He said they make north face jackets one day, patagonia the next. The difference is, for basically the same jacket, the north face would produce 900 a shift and patagonia 600, because patagonia had stricter quality controls and thus took longer to make...

That being said I have some Taipans and love them. I like being able to get collars, inserts, etc at a one stop shop.

I can’t say enough good things about the guys at safari tuff. I had a bad batch of arrows that were splitting at the nock end. I messaged ST on Instagram and within 20 minutes they had a fresh dozen sent to my address. They said it was one bad batch they had that problem with. Seriously great arrows and even better people.

Hmm….bad batch. I must’ve gotten one of those batches because I had quite a few break at the nock end and pretty much have written those shafts off as being too brittle. Guess I need to email Randy.

Yeah send them a email. They’ll make it right, I haven’t ran into that problem since.

I gave them a try based on them being advertised for their toughness. They are a fine arrow but also found them brittle (not surprising given their light weight). I believe Black Eagle Renegades are similar (slightly heavier) but in my experience are tougher and a great value.

I had a similar experience and great customer service. I added the nock collars and haven't had any other issues....

I got two dozen of them, good arrows and lite gpi, idk if they’re any tougher than anything else, I still love my axis’s for a 204

I thought I would share my experiences with Taipan arrows. This is in my basement mad scientist area so please excuse the mess. I was shooting through paper for tuning purposes and my 3D bear target backstop toppled from approx. 4ft onto my arrows against the cement floor. I was sure there would be some damage (cracked or broken) but there was none. Flexed them all and inspected them....nothing! I continued shooting and all was fine. I have since purchased some of the Kobra shafts at Kalamazoo to test out as well.

Did the Kobra shafts come with the outsert like that taipan? I assumed you would be able to pick and choose like they advertise for the taipan but the website just says a halfout right now.

I chose the halfout. Danny mentioned that you could go with a Taipan outsert one spine size larger and then pair it with the HIT insert like the Taipans. Personally, the shop closest to me where I shoot the most has Spider Web type targets withe mesh and the outserts are awful to pull from those targets.
