RRS teased new inverted tripod

I love my Tricer, even with its limitations. However, I only bought it because RRS refused to make a competitor. Now they are going down this road MAYBE they will make a competitor in the next few years. I will most likely buy one when they do.

Agreed. Just got a Tricer HK in today and am very pleased with it thus far. For me it’s the perfect balance of weight and bulk to take into the mountains. Was checking out a Fanaue and Leofoto inverted and they were just too big.

Just got the shipping notification...should have the Benchmark Inverted in about a week then will get on with removing a leg section and 3D printing caps. More to follow...

Working on proto end caps now…

With the lower leg section removed (making the Benchmark Inverted into a two section tripod), and with the caps, the weight should be around the 37 ounce mark. You’d still need to add a tripod head of choice.

I’ll mess around with the RRS Anvil 30, Leofoto MA-30L, and Wiser Precision BT-20 heads and share weights.

@Marty What is your first impression of the tripod vs say a two vets or fatboy? or versa33?

How tall does it get in this configuration?

I got my benchmark inverted tripod today. It’s the same weight as Leofoto 324 32mm tripod but with 36mm legs. It’s stiffer and nicer as expected. It’s 4.3 lbs with an anvil-30 head.

I still don’t love how full height 3 section tripods aren’t sitting height but are low kneeling height with the legs collapsed but the legs in the most upright position where as a 4 section is sitting height for me.
