Learned something new today.

Thats what im generally going for and why I like a big straight hole with a ton (or more literally two tons) of horsepower behind it. I want both front legs out of commission, pieces flying out the exit hole, and all the important stuff inside messed up.

Thats why I shoot my 80 pound meat deer with a .338

It has that nice "eat up to the hole" performance.

For me it depends on how important a blood trail is relative to the terrain/vegetation...the more open the area (easily found critters), a blood trail isn't as needed so a pass through is much less important.

In thick to insanely thick vegetation, i definitely want a blood trail.
