RokStok

We jumped the gun on the lites in a rush for the Expo. As @Stockys mentioned, they have a system in place now for the lites. Once we receive the next shipment of lites, we will provide the weight for all options. If you want to swap for a lighter one or get a refund, let UM know. I think there are seven lites in the wild.

I weighed eight of the Rokstoks that came in last week; the average weight, with two flushcups and a trinity rail, was 32.4. I had Jake change the weight on the website.
Just so I'm clear then, my regular Rokstok (not lite) that comes in at 38.2 oz with Trinity rail and flush cups is out of spec?

A regular Rokstok should be 32ish oz? Or is that the Lites specifically?

That would be the heavy side. Does it have LOP spacers? What barrel contour?

It was addressed on 3/2 when we were made aware the show stocks came in heavier. At that time the only stocks that were sent to UM were specifically for the hunt expo. Every lite that has shipped to UM has been 23 oz or less excluding the butt pad. I have weighed and marked every stock with the exact weight written on the box and on the stock that has been shipped after 3/2. I attached one photo for clarityView attachment 1039859
Dang it! My order # is not in that batch.

No I like the stock. The fact is though that Form is wrong, this hasn’t been addressed. No1 from UM has answered why the RokStok and RokStok Lite have gained weight despite a few weeks of murmurings

Yes they did. That you didn’t see it, doesn’t change that they did.

UM has an actual business to run, if they are on here everyday they aren’t making the things people want. You guys act like McMillan, Manners, Swaro, NF, etc, etc get on here and address every question and/or issue that people bring up. Y'all need a reality check- if you have a problem, pick up the phone and call UM.

Ok can you point me to where UM i) addressed why weights were coming in heavy on the RokStok and RokStok Lite, and ii) updated their product descriptions to match those weights?

Ryan’s response above (after my post) was the first I saw.

That’s all I asked…

He means they addressed it without mentioning it here. Like he said, they aren't on here answering questions daily. Sometimes they jump on and answer some, most of the time not. Critical thinking skills are gone in this world.

it's called the rokstok, one would think this would be the place to address issues.

No1 from UM has answered why the RokStok and RokStok Lite have gained weight despite a few weeks of murmurings on here that they are clearly aware of, and UM’s webpage still states ‘starting weights’ which are far from what we are observing on recently delivered stocks.

They shouldn’t advertise the stock’s weight being its stripped weight and not in a functional stage. When they say the stock weighs 23 ounces, that should include the base model features which UM themselves have stated is the pad, recoil lug, rear swivel stud, and the base paint, as it relates to the RokStok Lite.

I like the stock, all I'm saying is that I think it would be in UM’s best interest to change their product descriptions and marketing for the sake of transparency.
Please sell me your light so every time I check this thread it’s just not you bitching….

Form, I don’t have a problem with the stock. I’ve repeatedly said I really like it, and applauded UM for innovating and elevating the space. I applaud them for their transparency. All I did was ask them to i) kindly to fill us in on why stocks were coming in heavy, and/or ii) just update their product descriptions to match the new reality. UM is too cool of a company to have discrepancies like that, that’s all. And I’m appreciative of Ryan’s response tonight.

Apologies y’all. The escalation in my posts tonight wasn’t trying to nag about UM or drag them through the mud. Lost my cool a bit with Form.

Weights from people's personal scales don't give equal results. When was the last time it was calibrated? How old are the batteries? Etc.

I can step on my bathroom scale, get a weight, step back on immediately and get a different weight. Simply not stepping in the exact spot.

At the end of the day, Anything that requires actual hand layup, pouring, painting, etc will have human error.

Stockys made this post in the rokstok thread about delays and QC. This could have easily carried over to the Lite

They didn’t address it on March 4th and 5th…?

i had recalled Jake stating that he asked Stocky’s to not ship stocks over a certain weight threshold, but I didn’t recall Jake stating revised weights. And for that I apologize.

That said, I still think it would be in UM’s best interest to update their product description to at least match Jake’s revised weight estimate from the March 4th post. I’m done Form.
