RokStok

Usmc red, graphite black with lots of exposed carbon. The action in there is just to get me by until my other parts show up. I am planning on cerekoting the barrel and action in similar fashion. UM did a great job on the cerekote.

My new one showed up on Thursday. Ordered 9/19 so 174 days total.

The finish on the last 3 have all looked great.

My 1st stock OTTH looks like a 3rd grader was handed the spray gun. I'm not much of one for looks so I bolted in the action and headed to the hills.

This new one is definitely heavier at 36.6 Oz. An earlier model with the same configuration was 5 Oz lighter.
(Trinity rail, 3b contour with 2 flush cups)

The rokstok is great to shoot and I feel it's priced about right for what you get. Hopefully they can straighten things out and have a little more consistency with timeliness, weight and finish. All of my interactions with UM have been positive and watching the employees interact with each other and customers while checking out their wares at the Hunt Expo makes we want to continue to support their business. Maybe they should consider bringing stockmaking in house as ultimately you can only control what you build yourself.

That's very reassuring. at 1.5 oz heavier I'd say mine is within tolerance, assuming this batch is using something heavier, whether that be the resin, the carbon, or the foam filling.

Couldn't agree more. I've not had the opportunity to meet anyone from UM in person but all of my interactions have been great, and they genuinely are trying to bring products to market that solve problems hunters face.

I hope they do, but there may be a contractual obligation as part of the Stocky's "partnership." Could be a time element involved, so who knows.

Communication from UM could be improved a bit. I hadn't heard anything for two weeks after the "stock arrived at UM" email. In that email, it mentioned about 2 weeks for hardware install then it would be shipped. When I called, they looked up the order, had to look around the shop a bit, then stated it looked like it was one of the 74 stocks that had to be sent back to Stockys due to QC issues.

It would have been nice to get a quick email letting me know it had to be sent back upon their inspection. In all reality, it should have been caught by Stockys even before shipping to UM.

At the end of the day, it is what it is and I can't really do much but wait.

Their email comms suck. I’d just call the shop. I’ve been waiting for answers on an order, not a RokStok order, for a couple weeks now.

I am very happy with mine. Unknown has helped and worked out any issues I had, and communicated very well. They managed to help me put this one together before my upcoming trip to Africa in May.

I ordered a Stocky's VG for my Origin long action (back order) and a RokStok for my Tikka 243 this week. It will be interesting to see which arrives first.

Answer: I didn't get the Rockstock for the LA because I wasn't able to get comfortable that the inlets would fit my barrel's shank.
