Pachmayer 752B small fits the Rokstok. comes in .6", .8" and 1" thick.

The 752B of all sizes have a metal frame according to each size so you can only grind about 3/16" in from any side.



The Pachmayer 500B and decelerator youth/xs fit the Lite.
The 500B is .5" thick, no frame.
The Decelerator youth is 1" thick and has washers around the screw holes, no frame.



Btw- Brownell's is out of the 500B/youth...

Since I’ve never done a grind to fit, what is the weapon of choice for the grinding? Belt sander? Disc sander? Sandpaper by hand? Or am I making this harder than it needs to be and overthinking it?

Belt sander, then finish by hand with oil/soap/water and a wet sanding block. There's a really good youtube video by one of the manufacturer's but don't over think it. I think he finishes his with Lemon Pledge or something like that; I didn't have any and life went on.

I did mine with a couple layers of blue tape on the stock figuring when the tape started to sand off it's time to quit. It only took a couple minutes to knock it out. The chatter marks you see in some of the photos above are from bouncing from pushing too hard or coming in at a steep angle so avoid that.

Squeeze the end of the stock between your thumbs and fingers with both hands. It should pop off.

Get in the crack with a razor knife if it it doesn't just pop off.

I used epoxy on other stocks in the past. I didn't have any so I used Loctite 380 on these. Only less than 1/4" of grinding on the top and bottom and very little along the sides. The Pachmayr weighed almost the same as the factory pad, spacers, and screws but was a fraction of an ounce lighter before grinding

LOP. I only needed 1/2" to get proper eye relief on a Maven RS1.2 with the front ring on the front most recoil pin and the erector housing of the scope almost touching that ring.

The 1" pad resolved the issue without adding a spacer kit.

But I have no experience with them. Pachmayr may be better.

When I was trying to save weight on an ultralights I ground on the backside of them till the steel frame was exposed, pulled it out and kept grinding till it was flat then glued them on with black sikaflex.
Works very well, especially with narrow stocks.

I currently have UM low tikka rings, will those work with the rokstok or will i need to get taller rings?

I have 2 rifles in rokstocks, one with lows and the other with mediums. They both work for me but I prefer the mediums. Though there isn't enough difference for me to change out the low set.

The UM lows are slightly taller than other low rings if I recall correctly. I've always run low rings and find mediums to be better for me with the rokstok. I would like to try a set of talls with a cheek pad though.

I reached out to Stocky and asked which model is the Limbsaver they put on the Rokstok. They said it’s the 10818. A quick search on the Limbsaver website indicates that it’s the model for the Blaser R8. Unfortunately it’s not a very common rifle. I haven’t researched yet if anybody else makes prefit pads for the R8 that could be used on the Rokstock.
