RokStok

From what I can tell, the process goes like this:

-Orders open for a batch and stay open until that batch is filled (this took 45 days for me)
-Batch fills, orders close, 120 day lead time email is sent, orders are placed at stockys
-120 day estimated lead time at stockys (mine was 76 days)
-Stockys finishes your stock, update email is sent saying your stock is on the way from stockys to unknown claiming 5 days shipping time (mine was 12 days)
-UM sends confirmation email letting you know they received the stock from stocky's. This step requires your confirmation about paint / mods before continuing
-UM does mods / rails / paint / etc
-UM ships to you

Let's hope not...
I ordered my last one 9/11/2025.
Got the email 1/15/26 saying Stocky's is starting.
I'd be looking at closer to 250 days from day of order if this is the case.

I let him pick the colors and do the “sponge”. Tough to let them do it sometimes. Overall I thought he did okay picking out colors that went decent together.

But I’m trying to decide if it is super gay and I get raped at camp, if it’s worth keeping the paint or starting over.
My son turned 18 yesterday. Letting him do imperfect work growing up was the hardest thing I did. I can tell you that I have no regrets about accepting anything he "screwed up" (read: didnt do my way) and nothing BUT regret for the times I told him (through my reactions and actions) that his effort wasn't good enough.

That stock is fantastic. It is probably the only one that will ever be customized for you by your progeny. The animals dont care, it wont impact your shooting, and your choices now will make you smile or flood you with regret long after he has moved on to his own life.

If your hunting "buddies" give you grief about it, you should consider new buddies. The efforts of a boy become the passions of a man, and effort will live on far longer in memory than results. "Men" mocking the efforts of a grade school boy are the detritus of masculinity and show themselves to be unremoved in maturity from the schoolboy they belittle.

Man, great comment. From a new father here, thanks for sharing your retrospection.

So I ordered mine 10-31.How do you know when batch fills?
Batch could mean a lot of things. Could be all of the right handed, all left handed, mods, etc. I don't know what all that looks like. But the rest of the process after orders are placed at stocky's are pretty straight forward.

Run that forever dude. Your kid did it, that is super rad.

Animals don't care. You shouldn't care what other hunters think. Just take that bad boy out and kill everything.

For those of you with the Rokstok, did you need to change scope ring height vs your factory stock?

I went from sports match mediums to highs, and I’m not convinced I don’t need to go higher still (UM highs are higher I believe). I just recently switched to the Rokstock and need to spend more time behind it in various field positions to decide if I need to go taller.

Ok cool. About to get UM rings for a Tikka in a factory stock but will likely get a Rokstok in the future. Might just bias a bit high on the rings for now or try to approximate with an added cheek riser til I order a Rokstok.

Same here. Hunted with medium Sportsmatch last fall and it wasn't bad. I tried highs that I had on another Tikka and it felt much better. Waiting for highs to get back in stock to replace the mediums.

AG of Arizona had them last week or so, I grabbed 3 sets to cover my current and on order rokstocks.

Just curious if a rail makes sense on a Rokstok…I have used UM lows to get the SWFA 3-9’s and the Maven down on the barrel.
A rail with low rings might be a good height for the Rokstok?
Edit…I know. One more thing to break. But the portability is tempting.

I see 536 pages of posts on the Rokstok. Current or past USERS (I’m shooting a Tikka T3X), what have you found as benefits of running this stock? I won’t taint the well with my theories.

Thanks in advance.
