If you get some, please share how they work.
Form, sorry I started looking at the Waters site and came back to this. I should have read deeper, as I was doing a search on AICS mags and Bravo, but looks like the comment I replied to was re: Tikka. I should clarify I have a lowly R700 not Tikka in .223. Are you thinking the Waters still may be the answer for a R700/Bravo/.223? Thanks.

For AICS 223 mags? Yes.

The solution is purpose built 223 mags, not hack job inserts. If I used a 223 CTR, I would get Waters mags for it. I haven’t seen a bunch of them used, but what I have was good and they will have the best chance to work.
Waters aics 223 mags are pretty nice. Short and no inserts.

Iv got two with minimal use, once my 223ai barrel arrives I’ll be using them more.

My Waters 6 rd 223 AICS was giving me a bit of trouble while shooting in the cold the other day. The follower kept getting stuck and wouldn’t feed without removing and pressing down on the rounds to get it un jammed. It would get stuck at an angle. The MDT 5 rd poly (10 rd cut to down to make it a 5 rd.) worked without issue.

Well that sucks. But, mirrors what we see with their Tikka 223 mags in sand, dust, debris. Plastic follower getting stuck.

The MDT polys have been flawless for me. Most of my hunting is in very dusty terrain and they seem to have no issues.

I moved away from using my water’s rifleman Tikka mags as well. Both the 223 and the 308/6.5 etc.

Excessive filing to get them to fully seat and followers jamming that I thought was maybe due to do my excessive filing.

They worked fairly well at first but after some decent use they started sticking far too often unfortunately.

Do they make a standard Tikka mag that works or just the AICS variant?

I’ve been having luck with some recently purchased factory mags so far. I had a couple that wouldn’t always feed rounds on the 223 but my recent OEM 6 rounders have ran excellent.

Did all of your have plastic followers?

That sucks. The M595 ones are near the same design but with the correct latch of course, and a metal follower- they have been utterly unstoppable even side by side at classes when nearly everything else was crashing and burning.
Man wish the ones I have were that way. I've been back to nothing but factory mags since around June 2025.

Interested to hear of the waters mag issues on 223, all of mine have been flawless though I dont shoot the volume that some of you do. Factory have worked totally fine as well. Mountain tactical were garbage and I gave them away.

Is it really down to just testing each individual mag? I did number all of mine so I could keep track of issues.

Same. Recently purchased .223 with factory 4 rounder and two 6 rounders at the same time. I was expecting the common issues but so far with around 500 or 600 rounds through them I’ve have zero issues.
