I ordered 3 of the first ten stocks sold. I tikka and 2 700… got those this week. Also ordered a tikka number 98 sold. Haven’t got that one yet.

Question on bedding the rokstok on a bat vesper action.. are y’all doing it? How do i tell if i need to or not? I see it’s not required on the tikkas. I’m didn’t read all 500 pages of this thread to find the answer lol

I would. It's easy to do and only takes a couple hours and you arr assured a perfect fit.

If you’re using the rifle and not carrying a backpack for some reason, sure I guess there’s some application for a prone bipod. That’s why my mk12 has one. But no, I don’t think they have much application in western hunting.

I've used my bipod on the last dozen plus animals, guess I better get rid of it.

A prone bipod, like ... 6 inches off the ground? I'm honestly jealous. Too much sage where I hunt.

Any reason you prefer it over just laying your pack down and shooting off that, if you're going to be low anyway?

9" for me is a little more versatile, I don't always have a pack on me depending on the day and I'm not bringing one just to have a shooting support if I don't need it for whatever reason. Bipod goes where I go and I use it more often than not. If I have a pack it gets used as needed.

Yeah I think we're fundamentally in agreement. I tend to mount a bipod when I don't have a pack, which is why it's on my mk12. Good stuff.

These are UM Tikka medium. So far so good. I will try low height rings after hunting season to compare.

Have you done a comparison yet? Do you tend to prefer the low or medium rings with the rokstok? I am going to mount the stock on a tikka 243 but have not bought the ring or Maven scope yet. Please let us know your thoughts if you have compared the low vs medium rings.

I had a slight preference for lows with my rs1.2. No real preference offhand or seated unsupported but small preference prone. Either would have been totally workable.

Did not try the low rings. Medium works good for me and both kids so we did not change it up.
