If that’s correct, 18.5 rokstocks pay for a mold. Going off the hype I bet they could have got a couple more and been fine.
I get why people don’t like preorders now, I won’t do another one.
That assumes 100% profit on each rokstock. There's a fixed sunk cost with every stock in materials, labor, shipping, etc. It takes a lot more the 18 to pay for a mold.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I've seen enough preorders over the years to expect some delays, so it hasn't bothered me. It would be different if I was doubting whether they will be able to deliver, but I have confidence in all the guys involved in this one.

If this 2x delay was only with preorders of the rokstok I'd be bummed but less concerned and more understanding, the reality that it is an issue with other non-preorder offerings that you can't point the finger at Stockys is what doesn't sit as well.
I ordered mine 2/13/24. Wondering if I will have it for October hunting.

The issue with just buying more molds is that you need people to work the molds. If Stocky's only jas the manpower to run 3 molds for more than a few days at a time, then buying more is pointless.

Investing in molds may not be the issue.

Three molds can make 385 stocks in 90 days. I don't think UM has been able to get half that many out the door in over 6 months.

If we consider mid March to be production start to eliminate consideration of things like grip panels, they are still moving less than the capacity they have in molds. Buying another mold would be pointless.

Also, how many stocks did they sell? If 400, than I would consider 3 molds as being pretty close to what was promised. If 500, then 4 molds. However, as pointed out earlier, a fourth mold is unlikely to change anything.

Why I say 3 molds:

It was stated each mold makes 2 stocks per day and I assume Stocky's does not operate on weekends.

So, at 30 per week:
(30/2)/5=3
And check
3x2x5=30

Marbles pretty much summed it up. Molds are not the issue. We have three Tikka molds and one Remington mold. The issue was getting the imperfections(cosmetic) out of a new stock design. This has been addressed, and stocks, including the LE Green, are being made. We do apologize for the delay and appreciate the support.

Mine was ordered on 2/20. At this point I wouldn't hold your breath. Looking like I'll be hunting with my existing rifle this fall. But who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.

I'm just going to tell myself that I'm lucky I didn't get one of the first ones because mine will come after the production kinks got worked out.

There are no issues with the ones we have sent out. The issue is cosmetic, and those stocks don't get sent out.

This is the first green stock. We have shot 3500 rounds through this rifle... No Kinks:)

I would say this is why we are all supporters. We don’t want or expect any sacrifice in product to increase deadlines.

In for a blem:)

Also, hoping I’m the only or first one to order a green on with pic/spartan rail.

Some of us lie to ourselves to feel better. Don't take that away from me.

Those LE green ones really do look good. I went bare carbon because I didn't want to stunt my creativity, but I second guess my choice every time I see the green stocks.

This! Just saying, I can ditch out of work and pick one up in less than 20min...

Pretty sure UM could charge above MSRP for blem's if they were promised to ship out same day. People would bitch and moan and crumble, but there's a bunch that would pay.

Not that UM would ever do this, it just struck me as funny that they probably could.
