I think another way to phrase it from his end is "they can work when there is enough friction from the clamping force alone, the reoil lug is not engaged, contact gunwerks for their clamping for recommendations / max torque".

I guess my point is plenty of people have said it doesn’t work.

So it does seem a bit disingenuous to say, “no, it does work with enough clamp force but I can’t/won’t say what that is.”

I would also like to know. I chose the pic rail/spartan on 4 stocks for the possibility of using the gunwerks bipod. Its very disappointing that it does not work with it

That's what happens when people chase weight savings. Extra material goes to the wayside at every company causing compatibility issues.

I have the gen 1 gunwerks bipod and it does work but it slides all the way to the rear of the mount due to that center slot being to wide for the recoil lug. It takes effort to move it forward from there but you can. I haven’t tightened anything on it so it’s all straight from the factory. If you mount it as far back as you can you shouldn’t have any issues.

I don’t use it for hunting though and I don’t leave it attached to my rifle. I use it for the range so that may be why I’m not having issues.

Has anyone else had issues with bottom metals and Waters rifleman mags? I sanded a bit to get my high desert bottom metal to fit, but it needed way too many shims to allow the mag to catch. Stock plastic bottom metal still needed about 4thou of shims to engage. Stock tikka mag needed about 1-2 thou less shim.

High desert is working on a version 2 that should work better. Hope to have one to test out soon.

Not specifically for the Rokstock, but more generally for Stockys style inlets. Rokstock is definitely worse than both of my VGs. Will have more room to avoid trigger contact and less sanding. The prototype we tried needed much less shimming but still some.

Seems like a persistent design “feature” of stockys inletting dimensions.

Same here with factory bottom metal, the factory mag and Waters mags fit well with no shims in 2 different Rokstoks.

I don't have a gunwerks bipod. And I don't have torque specs for a bipod I don't have. A max torque spec would be provided for the fastener by gunwerks I would assume. I have no idea how it adjusts, and have no idea what size screw adjusts it.

I've never even held one of these bipods. What I do have, are multiple customers saying they work with the picatinny clamp being tight enough. And that's all the info I have.

Rokstok arrived. Slight POI change. No change in group size.

Here's a little 700 insight since posting @ #6574. Hoping other 700 buyers had better fitting.

Since receiving the stock I have noticed and remedied the following:

• tang inlet too short - fix: cut with a Dremel
• height at front action screw way too low - fix: bed a .72" front aluminum pillar to raise receiver height
• entire barrel in front of lug laid in the barrel channel - fix: pillar and epoxy bed around rear tang + area between mag well and recoil lug
• back of recoil lug did not seat in lug well (see 1/32" space) - fix: epoxy bedding

Feedback + comments:

• Very pleased with the stock now that all the inletting issues are resolved - it's an excellent stock so big thanks to everyone involved with bringing this together
• Stock satisfies my interest in a Clymer (Poor Man's Clymer?), $500ish is the right price considering the inletting errors/time and trouble required to remedy
• FWIW, would pay more if a true drop-in that could be used interchangeably with other barreled actions
• Hoping UM and Stockys get the CS (tell the truth, always) and production bugs worked out before producing more 700 inlets
• A compact version with 4" less fore-end length would be cool, but that's personal preference

Will order a Rostok 700 SA as soon as they can be ordered.

Note: If anyone has a 700 SA with inlet issues that are too prohibitive, let me know and I might buy.
