Rokstok Youth Model

As much as you can squeeze! Adjustable cheek comb for kids is arguably more important for kids than adults. "finding" the scope, FOV and target acquisition is a struggle with the youth. The market needs a good affordable youth stock especially for Tikkas.

I use a MDT chassis with at Magpul AR style stock for youth, it has a 5 or 6 position stock with interchangeable cheek rests. All the way collapsed its 10.5" extended 13.75" The 10.5" seems to be great for per hunting age youth, prone with 5-8 year old have sub 10 second target acquisition time with this setup. Bonus is it fits adults too.

10.5-11” would be a good place to start. The tikka compact stock is just a bit large for my 8 year old but he can still shoot it off a tripod.

Yall need to be listing your kids height, not age. My 6 year old is the size of some 12 year olds, and thanks to youth wrestling I've seen 110# 8 year olds.

10" is pretty small, I have a cricket that's cut about that short, it's worked for kids down to 39". But, there are issues being that short, namely eye relief. Their heads take up room and have some thickness.

Maybe we could get a chart going for height and arm length. I have some data from 2 boys and XLR chassis. I'm going to chop a t3x stock soon and add a dowel system or some other arrangement.

Not sure if your looking at reducing the trigger reach as well. That's been just as important the shorter lop with my kids.

Maybe worth doing a multiple spacer system versus just the single spacer like the Tikka.

The regular Rokstok worked surprisingly well for my small 6 year old and she could shoot prone, I tried with a regular Tikka stock and after a minute or so she just said "I can't."

A few more data points since I spent my day at a youth wrestling tournament

12u went from 60-200#
8u went from 50-110#

@Unknown Munitions if you go with something really short like 10", you should explore having spacers that maintain the negative comb. If you look at @Nine Banger 's post #3 above, looks like the negative comb keeps "climbing" until about 12.5". This way the user can truly keep growing into the stock, with the continued benefit of the negative comb, rather than it flattening out. This would mean needing to have numbered spacers, such that each one fits in a specific position, but might be worth it.

Exactly.

I was just daydreaming about tapered spacers earlier this week when I ordered a left hand railed stock for the 223s coming soon.

If we had the tapered spacers we could just get to chopping.

I bet someone can 3d print them if the market isn't there to make a mold for the Rokyouth.

A 10” with the ability to grow to 12.5-13” would be excellent for kids! I thought I heard in a podcast something about 12” though..

I wonder if that has something to do with preserving the negative comb without tapered spacers. I've also heard everyone say that LOP is not as critical with the Rokstok, I'm waiting on to see what the shorter version winds up being for myself, as I may go with it over the regular one for me, as a 5 ft 6 in adult with t rex arms. Especially if it means I can add a 1 inch pad and keep it at 13 inches flat.
