I struggled with the exo carrier on a hunt this past week. Was never able to reach back and unclip it, atleast not quickly. Also the elastic on the butt carrier is very tight and midway through the hunt it had started to rip the recoil pad from the stock. Emailed stockys to see if they will send another but we will see. For now it's just floppy and dangling except for the bottom 25% that's still attached.

Sorry I'm late, I don't like it! You don't see a comb shape like this on any military sniper rifle. Recoil will bring the shooter's face/check off the stock, nothing for quick follow-up shots. Good for the recoil sensitive though.
Have you actually shot a rokstok?

I'd hate to use a military sniper rifle to hunt. That would suck.

Maybe “they” should try one? Might be just the ticket.

I use a Kifaru carrier on the EXO pack. The universal upper is a strap pull (can be bought separate), works well for me.

I wish the straps were bright orange, accidentally pulled it and “drop tested” my rifle while hunting this year.

Doubt it. But he's right, doesn't work at all for quick follow up shots and the recoil management is so terrible you can spot your shots easily....
Doesn't work at all for hunting.

Nope, I am sure it is comfortable since the comb moves away in recoil. Not much for follow-up is it.
If your face is moving far enough off the comb on any stock including a negative comb and causing follow up issues then your rifle handling skills are lacking. It is not an issue as you perceive it to be. “Perceive” is the key word there, not actual experience with it.

What it the logic of this comb design, what is it supposed to do? Why aren't the manufacturers jumping on this? What about the military teams shooting bolt guns?

The rostock reminds me of another fad from a few years back. 1732039068578.jpeg

More practice with less than stellar positioning with the RokStok. Seated, using my pack as a front rest, and my bino pouch between my quad and butt of the rifle. This thing stays on target so well. Hit targets at 250, 485, 695, and 830 ish in this position.

Also… it fits in the Exo K4 rifle carrier well. I’m not sure I’m a fan of this yet. It feels secure for sure but reaching back to unclip the top buckle looks much easier on their videos than it does in real life. Maybe it needs adjusted or it’s because the pack wasn’t totally full?

This is a pic of the whole slik sling installed but I’ve since switched to the exo buttstock “bucket” and used the top attachment of the slik sling. Keeps it secure but also is quick and easy to remove the rifle when needed regardless of how full the pack is. I will snap a pic of how I use it tonight when I get home. I much prefer the butt of the stock attached to the bag rather than the hip belt.

There are (edit: at least) two other hunting stock manufacturers that I know of that offer negative comb stocks. Since when have the "military teams" been the be all end all leading edge of rifle stocks? Once upon a time we looked that direction but that ship has sailed a long time ago.

I spent my first day in a tree facing climbing stand with the rokstok this weekend and was impressed. I think for the weird positions I end up in the negative comb is actually better than my eh1 flat comb was at allowing me to easily get a site picture even in compromised positions.

Very happy still with this stock.

I'm not sure if you're serious. You realize that after recoil shooters generally reset back into the same position they were in prior to recoil? With your logic if shooting a flat comb rifle that has muzzle rise upon recoil, the shooters head would be lifted up by said muzzle rise and they wouldn't be able to get their head down for a follow up shot.

Other manufacturers have shit the bed for a long time making compromised designs because thats what everyone else did. They are and will be following suit.

mcmillan, peak 44, gunwerks, echelon, alterra all have negative comb stocks. Probably some others i'm missing.

Brother, you’re not late. You’ve never used the stock. You are in fact very early to leaving a review for the stock at this point.
