Factory sporter barrel on a 3b contour stock. PLENTY of space. When I tighten the front action screw the stock really sucks up or the action down with increased pressure compare to it floating sitting on the recoil lug prior to tightening.

I'd bed it. I bed everything anyways.

Relieve them and do a stress free bedding job on it.

This could be an out of spec inletting. Not sure how it could suck down and be touching anywhere that close to the recoil lug like that. Never seen that.

I’d take my dremmel and relieve the area personally and then see how it does.

The inlet on one of my stocks was out of spec, I sanded out some of the shank inlet and no more problems so far. Need to get more time on it though.

Personally, I would sand it, then shoot it. If it still didn't work like I wanted, I would bed it. Do that though, and any issues are on you.

The other option is contact UM, I'm not patient enough for that.

Okay, I relieved that contact point in front of the recoil lug. I have less deflection for sure, however, I still have deflection upon tightening and loosening the front action screw. Looking at my play dough test it looks like I may be contacting the recoil lug. When I did this with the factory stock a healthy amount of play dough was left on top of the lug.

Either the lug isn't seated deep enough into the stock or the pocket for the lug isn't deep enough. Whack the lug with a piece of delrin or something like it with a hammer and see if it seats deeper into the stock.

Don’t happen to have any Delrin lying around but I have a whole bunch of wood. Any problem using good ole fashioned wood?

I put a piece of wood over my lug and hit it with rubber mallet to get mine in place.

I would do it gently. I held my stock in my hand, not in a vice or on a bench. I’m sure you could crack the CF if you beat hard enough.

Sounds reasonable, I tried to pull it at the start and damn that thing is in there.

Yep they are in TIGHT! Heat and good channel locks or vice grips gets them out. You need to make sure something isn't defected or stuck down in there not letting it drop.

There is a recoil lug protrusion spec and it is .093" nominal. Check yours.

This is a post from UM regarding this from back in August. There were some issues with recoil lug tolerances and the tight inletting from Stockys. I too would dick with it myself and make it work, but there is always the option to send to them and they'll make it right...

Tikka recoil lug protrusion is a new issue brought to my attention as Ryan stormed into the UM shop in his hot pink crocs. Since then:

We have measured proper lug protrusion based on action dimensions, nothing to do with the stock, and it is .093" nominal. Keep in mind MT, UM, and factory Tikka lugs can vary by .015" of each other.

We have added another QC step to our stock exit process, we will measure the lug height and set accordingly.

The stocks you are receiving are aftermarket and can occasionally require some unforeseen work for proper fitment. Of course they are intended to be drop in and you are not required to do any work, however that term unforeseen will pop up now and again.

Here at Unknown Munitions, we will support the Rokstok and future stock products in any way necessary to make the customer happy.

We have never received a stock from any manufacturer here at Unknown Munitions that didn't require some type of fitment during the rifle build process.

I reached out. lol, it was only two days ago but haven’t heard back. I used all my patience in the year I waited for the stock. Trying my best. I made it all of 18 hours waiting before I relieved that pressure point in front of the lug.

So of my three micrometers not a one has a scale that goes to the end. That’s a tricky spot for such a precise measurement. How did you measure? I used a square but mm was the smallest measurement. It’s too hard to eyeball. It’s right at about 2.4-2.6mm which 2.4 would be in spec but it’s real close that’s for sure. I’m not pulling that thing without damaging the lug. Did you use some leather or how did you do it exactly? Mine is welded tight.
