Rokstok Lite

Talked with Jake today and learned a few things that I didn’t realize about the RS lite (carbon fiber version specifically). The front forend is too shallow to allow for a Spartan adapter of anytime other than the trinity rail, and not the Rokstok specific one. Only the SRS version. Kind of a bummer for me as I wanted a nice clean looking forend.
That really is unfortunate.

Any benefit getting a 1” pad instead of 1/2” for the small cartridges? Recoil I guess but also get to use one less spacer? Hmm

It’s only 1 spacer but also the spacer base. So you get rid of two plastic components for more recoil reduction. Sounds like a win if 14” is your LOP.

@Formidilosus whats your thoughts on the new flush arca? I typically don’t run anything up front but it sounded like the flush arca wouldn’t suck.

dang, at 23-24oz I was intrigued but at 27+ I start seeing a VG for 400 bucks look pretty good. Curious to see an average of weights as they start shipping
It’s not just about weight. Much better recoil management giving you the ability to see your hits/misses and to quickly make follow up shots and corrections. Just my opinion.

Going from the KRG Echo to RS Lite cut about 20 ounces out of this combo. Factory barrel chopped to 20” and Nomad TiXc. Balance point is right in the taper from magwell down to forend. I am quite pleased right out of the gate. Definitely need taller rings and LOP spacers will help.

Once I have them installed I can lug it up into the hills.

I agree with the premise, but on stuff like 22 CM, 6 CM, 6.5 CM, spotting hits with something like a VG or even a factory stock is not a chore in any regard…

Can see the big benefit once you start roasting 50+ grains of powder… the slightly negative comb on the Bastion on my 25 PRC definitely helps a ton.

Swap to the SWFA 3-9 and drop 5-6 ounces . Prob won’t need spacers either.

I want to try a 3-9 some day. If I do that I just as well chop the barrel to 16” and throw on an Airlock nano

This rifle is now sitting right around the weight I want to be and it matches my other rifles weight so it was a win.

What's it weighing in at? How does it shoot compared to the krg?

8.7 lbs loaded according to pampered chef.

Not enough time with it to make a real comparison. But spotting shots 200-600 yards feels the same from prone. I will give the nod to the RS seated. Offhand the RS feels much better.
It’s only a 6.5 CM so not crazy hard to spot to begin with though. I do prefer the grip of the KRG but that could also just be the 3k rounds of experience I have on the echo and a bravo.

I've been eyeballing that Nano. I'm a recoil whimp, so you are prob in the sweet spot for weight already for me w a 6.5CM
