Rokslide Push-Up Challenge!!! (BIG PRIZES)

Sounds like a pretty good idea.

On a side note, I was reading recently that for a US Marine to pass his chin up test at recruit training, males had to only complete 3 full chin ups, I near fell over when I read that.

If I remember correctly, the minimum was 12, when I was in. The goal was 20, but most of us did 25-30, just to prove we could.

What is the definition of "without stopping"? Can you stop in the "prone" position to recover momentarily? Can you stop in the "down dog" position momentarily to recover? If you're able to pick up your hands I'm assuming so, but Think we need some clarification.

I would think common sense would prevail:)

Feet and hands can touch

Nothing else can touch

If you feel it will help, pick a hand or foot up if needed, but again, nothing else can touch.

When in doubt, ask your CCT brother, with everything he's been through I bet he's a push-up professional.

Fun contest! I do lots and lots of pushups as part of my personal fitness plan. Hate 'em. Think I'll watch… :)

Good luck guys and girls!

Great motivation, inspirational idea, challenge and I love that video you added. Makes me wish I did more push-ups in my workouts but I guess it is never to late to start. :) Just wanted to say thanks for being a motivator Aron and Rokslide. I really like positive, encouraging things. We need more of that in this world and this post is one of them.

I figured it was a good time to get a physical fitness challenge going on to motivate everyone!

Here's the deal:

1) Do as many push-ups as you can in a row without stopping. You can lift your hand off the ground if needed, but when your knees/knee touches, or any other part of your body, you're done like dinner!

So to make things clear:

Your feet can leave the ground if needed.

No other part of your body can touch but your hands and feet. If anything else does touch, consider yourself stopped.

You can pick your hands up if needed.

The actual push-ups will be judged by military standards.

2) All contestants must be Rokslide.com members.

3) All entries must be ON FILM, so you'll need to upload your entry on Vimeo or Youtube and then attach the link to this thread.

4) Judges will be decided next week, but everyone will be judged under the same standard.

5) You can enter your videos anytime between now and February 15th.

6) Each contestant can have two entries/two chances.

7) There will be 2 male divisions (over 50 and under 50) and a female division.

8) As I will be entering this myself, any Rokslide.com pro-staff, owner or the like can win.....You just need to be a member. If I happen to end up in the top 3, I will donate my winnings to someone in need of gear.

9) You final winners will be able to choose what prize they would like, in order of merit, so the #1 finisher in the male or female class will get to pick first (we'll figure out if the male or female class gets first choice before the final date of entry).

Here's a list of some of the potential prizes

Kuiu Sleeping bag

First Lite Clothing

Kryptek Clothing

Stone Glacier Gear

Kifaru Gear

Lathrop and Sons Gear

Vortex Optics

and more.

Good luck everyone and may the force be with you!

I would have liked to join but I'm on a "No push-up" break . Trying to self heal a Rotator cuff problem .

I'm in! Have lost 40+ pounds slowly over the last 12 months and do roughly 70 without hurting myself too much.... Will start pushing the output and see if I can't crack the hundy.
