"Rokslide Classifieds" clogged and cluttered - consider separating?

Yeah you are new, it's ttt. :ROFLMAO:

I'm still waiting and open to someone who is among those being talked about to come on here and debate it. "Tell me why you are so consumed with selling 10 items and you bump into the top every time so everybody gets to see you". Like the class clown in Middle School that needs attention even though it annoys the hell out of everybody else. Or why "You have 200 posts and only two of them actually involved debating and engaging another discussion". Those are pathetic. Maybe that'll rile them up enough to show up.

Those using the forum to learn about hunting, shooting, et al and discuss things and using the classifieds to their hearts content need not apply.

It's SO easy to look at postings and dole out the requisite lashings.

Maybe a "Page of Shame thread".

I think you just need to go hunting...

I get what you are saying. I have learned an awful lot on this forum , mostly on backpacking how to and gear. I try to contribute when I can to help others out as well. The classifieds have helped me out on some key pieces of gear. I am happy to have the oppurtunity to make deals with other roksliders. I do not look at them all the time, just more so when I am looking for a particular item. Thanks to the Mods who deal with all the extra work created with having the classifieds.

What's the reason Rokslide wants/still allows cluttering things up? It is not really debatable, it's a reality. Is there some type of advantage to the website as a whole? Nothing's been done to address it. There must be some upside?

Interesting no one has come on that is a habitual classified offender to defend their position as I have offered a few times now.

Tell us why you do do it, habitual classified posters, bumpers and clutterers. I am gonna predict if someone shows up, the argument is they are following the rules. So then it may lie with the way the rules are written.

The more ads, the more people see them, the better.

This website is like any other: it's based in commerce. For every used thing someone sells, someone buys a new thing to replace it. Maybe that new thing is bought from a sponsor.

More ad visibility = ads get more clicks = more page loads = more sponsor ad visibility. It's what keeps the lights on here, so to speak.

I'm not sure I'm clear on what you're arguing. You're not arguing that once someone creates a classified thread, they should never bump it are you?

Bumping this request, appreciate any consideration you'd give to breaking clothing out into its own category.

That is another good idea. Also, someone suggested changing bumps from 24 to 72 hrs. Let's do these things and make more categories. Win win!!

A clothing subforum is an interesting idea for this forum that holds merit. That being said I'd recommend that new subforums be added diligently and minimally. You're more likely to screw it up with to many than to improve it at this point.

24 to 72hrs is an excellent idea. This would clear up most of the clutter.

Classifieds drive daily site traffic

Not only that, you could simply fix the problem yourself by filtering your “new post” results permanently.

Or you can keep whining about using a free website at your own free will

Edit: for those who want to filter here is a link with steps and pictures
