I might find it interesting to know the actual details about why Joe Rogan would support Bernie Sanders...assuming he put much thought into it. But beyond that, it means nothing to me.

It might be illuminating for Joe however to consider why not so law abiding or bright people like Antifa members and AOC are such strong bedfellows with Bernie.

I think the video at the beginning of the thread is pretty close to spot on. Now I haven't heard what Rogan said so I may be wrong but what was said in the video was that Rogan stated he would probably vote for Sanders. In my mind, like the guy in the video said, he is saying , without saying, that he would not vote for Trump.

I think this really exemplifies a huge issue in politics today. Just because someone supports a candidate or an idea, an individual is ready to classify them as an enemy.

For instance, what if someone is supporting Bernie because they have a sick parent or child and can see no way else to afford the life-saving care needed. They may see Sanders as their hope with his medicare for all plan. This doesn't mean they understand how or if medicare would even be a solution, let alone any of his other policy plans and their ramifications. It sure as heck wouldn't make them my enemy either.

I have many friends whose political opinions and voting patterns are about as attractive as a pile of garbage. But they're still my friends, and good friends at that. Severing relationships and isolationism it seems used to be prevalent mostly on the left. It's unfortunate it's become such a popular approach these days across all spectrums.

The two party system is the problem. You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Most Americans would fall in the middle on a lot of issues if they knew candidates weren’t going to vote on party lines. Extreme ideas get passed because of party line votes and you’ve gotta pick which group of idiots you think are going to be less dumb. It’s a sad state of governance we find ourselves in.

^^this... and the way advertising money works to drive the wedge farther and farther. Just signing up with a party and never honestly reevaluating what you are getting from them is an unfortunate way to go about things.

I listen to the podcast a fair amount and he has basically said he feels that Bernie has been the most consistent of the candidates.

Bernie is consistent, but a consistent moron is still a moron. If that's how all these idiots get elected, then that explains a lot.
