Very common. My old .223 hunting ar loved that Barnes Vortex 55. I still had a case and a half of it. Built a new .223 on a Brux barrel. Hated that same ammo. 2” groups. Had to sell off all that ammo at a loss. New gun loves the 62 gr TTSX. Barrels either like a bullet or powder or they don’t. An 8 twist is totally fine for that bullet, you aren’t gonna over twist it. That wasn’t the issue. It just didn’t like that pill.Found some Sierra Tipped Game King 64 grain ammunition locally and hit the range today. Two five shot groups under 1MOA. Wasn’t the gun, scope, mounts, free floated barrel or action screw torque. That rifle just did not like the Barnes 55 grain load. I know this rifle has an 8 twist so that must be it. Very familiar with the Game King bullet and will give it a try on Whitetails this fall.
