I will be making the voyage to join the orange army for 3rd rifle in CO in a few days. What are some good radio stations to tune into along the I-15 and I-70 corridor? Country, alternative rock, hard rock and red dirt usually suit my needs just fine. Open to all suggestions except modern tractor rap and hip hop, those just really aren’t my thing. And yes, I’m a cheapskate that will not pay for satellite radio.

When I know I am going to be in need of entertainment for a period I just pay for a month of Pandora, if you are into music. If you are into something else just pay for a month subscription.

I have two phones loaded with playlists for different things and moods. Some 2000 great songs for virtually any trek.

Stock up on CD's.....there's a lot of dead air out there....
Had a HUGE collection as a teenager, then the house burnt down. Never got around to replacing them after the fire. Dead air space is either really enjoyable or maddening depending how much your passengers are yapping.

Pandora will be a good call. But sometimes I just like surfing the radio to see what the local area is up to.

I agree. Depends on where you are going. I tend to get the subscription when I am remote and wont get any radio I like. Pandora lets you save stations to listen to when you wont get radio or cell reception.

Audible is another good one for a one month subscription, get the audio version of that book you never get around to reading

My God do I hate the radio. It's always whiny chick and beta male in the morning replaying the same 20 songs all day. Podcasts are awesome and free. The stitcher app has podcasts on any subject you can imagine. Spotify has a free version that you can pick music genres. Also if you have Amazon prime, their music app is included in the membership.

I cant stand the radio. Ads with fast talking people screaming at me. I drive a 2017 truck and Im not sure the radio has ever been on. I play my itunes off my phone. Thinking about resubscribing to the XM on a three month free trial but not sure I really will use it.

On I-70 between Columbus OH and the Indiana state line try picking up FM 100.3 or AM 1500. It’s a locally owned and operated station that plays some good classic country. In an hour you’ll typically hear some Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Tom T. Hall, Flat and Scruggs, Stanley brothers, etc. It’s just about the only thing I miss about living in Ohio.

2000 songs in total spread across several different playlists. Or I don't select a playlist and just let em play randomly and FFWD any I don't feel like listening to. I like a broad spectrum of music.

usually the only thing you’ll get is religious music in 88.1 or some random station. I always wonder why there’s always a random religious station in the middle of nowhere. It’s always disappointing when the radio finally lands on a station…

I listen to podcasts primarily anymore, down load them so they play without signal! Also still have an old Ipod with thousands of songs on it plugged into a usb since I have owned my current rig, bought in 2013!

Just play on a shuffle, need to update that thing!

If I am driving by myself, I practice my calling. Duck, goose, elk and turkey calls. I get tired of radio stations quickly. I'm good with silence much of the time. Gives me time to think.

The "Range" 103.3 I think it's out of cheyenne Wyoming. Not sure how far south it goes . We listen to it up in the bighorns. Best 3 chords of pain "classic country "music station around -imo

I had a little portable am/fm radio on me one year up in Idaho in the middle of nowhere and the only thing it would pick up was religious people talking or singing and Mexican radio stations. My neighbors blast Spanish speaking music so loud at times it’s unbearable. I’ve really grown to hate the sound of the accordion and tuba because of it. It usually is disappointing when the radio only comes in crystal clear on what you don’t want to hear.
