Hey guys,

Just wondering what charge i should go up to or stay at. Currently I'm at max for the nosler manual 75.5 grains of RL-22. No signs of pressure and would have had a pretty nice group if I wouldn't have moved the rest before the last shot. Just wondering if I should test higher or stick at max from the nosler manual. I found 2 other manuals that list 76.9 and 77.0 for 180gr bullets. This will strictly be a hunting load so I don't want to push it too much but I wouldn't mind the extra velocity.

Tikka m695 300win mag 25-26" barrel suppressed with tbac ultra 7
Norma brass
Fed 215m
nosler 180 gr accubond
reloader 22 (75.5 currently)
FPS 2900-2930

If anyone has run tikka's or rl-22 in tikkas or has any input on the set up I am all ears.

What's your COAL and actual barrel length? Stock Tikka M695 looks to be 24".
Yeah looks like 24" barrel and the COAL is 2.835 longest i could load it. Due to the mag and i dont want to single feed. I had 2.840 with the comparator but my dummy round is a little shorter

I need COAL, not CBTO, to plug into Quickload for you. Should be around 3.340" if you're following most books. From memory, pretty sure I run 3.570" in my Tikka T3x but I did the mods to allow the mag to run them that long, CBTO is 2.939" though.

Every gun is different. I wouldnt be afraid to keep bumping the powder charge up in 0.3 to 0.5 gr increments if there are no pressure signs. I've easily went over Nosler max book charges in most all my rifles especially if I'm loading longer than SAMMI standard.

I'm over book values too but my COAL is a lot longer than anything says, was a guessing game. Thought I'd use QL to give a warm fuzzy feeling.

Sure there's some variation not in here like; brass capacity, suppressor, twist rate, etc. Just something to maybe show how high you can go chasing speed like you want to, all on you to double check the numbers and actually shoot it. FYI, 75.5 grain in here shows a speed of 3005 fps.

Being software it's not perfect. FWIW it gave my load a speed of 2947 fps, actual average in my T3x is 2973 fps.

After reading your first post again, I'm glad I'm not the only one that runs 150 fps slower than the Nosler manual speeds with charges above their max. I need to find some fast barrels like Nosler uses I guess.

Yeah all my tikkas run slow i thought it might have been my can or something. But they all shoot very well so I have no problem with it.

Stolen from another person.

When buying a Tikka you know 3 things;
1. It's smooth
2. It's slow
3. It's accurate

The can "should" speed things up a little per some manufacturers. Not 100 fps but something measurable depending on the equipment. Out of curiosity...how you like the Ultra 7 on that? Direct thread?

I have a Nomad in jail for my 300 WM but always looking. I wanted light and DT, probably should've done Ti but the 6 lb rifle could use the extra weight. So hard for my dealer to get a TBAC.

Loving the ultra 7 glad I did a lot of research like 4 years lol shouldn't have waited that long. It is a CB/but converted to Direct thread.

So far I have had it on my ar-15, 6.5cm, and my 300win mag. Also put it on my buddies 308 and 6.5cm.

Been a lot of fun and works great. Does get hot on the ar-15 about 10 round mag dump and I need to let it cool down. On the bolt actions i usually do about 5-6 and let it cool down. You will be happy with the nomad!!
