I purchased a SWFA 3-9 MIL today (my first SWFA) during the sale for my daughter's Weatherby Vanguard 243 so she can start learning to dial yardages. The SWFA will be replacing a Burris Fullfield BDC scope with 1" tube. I originally thought her rifle had a pic rail but just went back and looked and it has the Talley Howa 1500 rings in Low.

I know the Talleys are prob considered fairly entry level so looking for something maybe a little more robust for the new SWFA scope with 30mm tube.

Right now I'm considering either of these: Warne maxima 2 piece scope base or Howa/Vanguard SA Mountain Tech Tactical Rail

As far as the rail/base goes, any reason why I should go one over the other?

For rings I'm looking at the Warne Moutain Tech Low rings: Warne Mountain Tech 30mm, Low Matte Rings

What's the consensus on the Mtn Tech rings? Do ya'll think the Low rings would work fine with the SWFA? I have UM low rings on my Tikka rifles so not very familiar with these but I thought I remember seeing guys like @Formidilosus being a fan of the MTN Techs. Could be mixing them up with something else though.

Any other base/ring combo I should be looking at instead? Not trying to spend too much $ but want something rockslide approved to hold zero. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks guys!

Warne rail and MT rings. The Warne maxima have issues breaking. If not Warne then Nightforce. They are the only pic rail/ rings I am comfortable with before going custom. Murphy precisions is a great custom rail, just pricey.

There is a thread I am unable to locate detailing mounting the rail with locktite 380. Highly recommend the 380 set up.

Crazy timing. I literally just installed the rails, rings and SWFA scope this week now that hunting season is over and I had some time. I ended up using the same Burris Xtreme tactical 2 piece steel bases @Formidilosus used in this thread Scope mounting to maintain zero and paired it with the Burris XTR Signature Rings 30mm in Low Burris Xtreme Tactical Signature Rings

The stock is a Bell & Carlson Howa 1500/Weatherby Vanguard youth model for reference
Stock

Degreased all screws, used fingernail polish for the screws and paint pen for the witness marks. Torqued base plates to 30 in-lbs, Ring Clamps to 45 in-lbs, & Ring Tops to 20 in-lbs if I remember correctly.

Have't had a chance to sight it in yet, but the rings and bases seem to be great quality.

Hope this helps
