Rifle scope help

Hey all, I am looking for some scope help. I buying a 7prc. Leaning towards a tikka roughtek or a begara HMR. Im am having issues picking an optic. I want to stretch out my range to 700 yards for hunting. I want a first focal plane optic with a good warranty. Trying to keep it under 1,200.00. I have obviously looked online but I wanted some opinions from guys who have used them in the field without any money influencing their opinions. Thanks guys.

If you can wait a bit, the new S2H scope from ZeroTech looks to be the exact scope you're looking for. It's not available to buy today, but you can get it pre-ordered on the Shoot2Hunt website. I have one on order

If you need something today, a SWFA 3-9 is a very good option. FFP, as robust as anything, and surprisingly good optical quality for the $600 price. I love mine and it is way better than the price would indicate. No issues shooting to 800+ with it.

I like my LRHS, but the donut reticle is one that quite a few people don't like. Mine is the 3-12 which are really hard to find.you can find the 3-12 or the more common 4.5-18 used for under a grand fairly regularly.

The Maven RS1.2 is at the very top of your price range but worth looking at if you need something right now and really feel the desire for more magnification.

A 7PRC recoils a lot (relative to what most of us hunt with at those ranges) and to stay in the scope, even with a brake (eww) or suppressor (yay), you'll likely need to be in the 6-9x magnification range at 700 if you want to spot your own impacts. A scope that goes to 15x or 18x won't be much help in field shooting on that rifle.

Everything Eric said was spot on. Only thing I would add would be to look at the SWFA 3-15 as well if you're looking for more magnification over the 3-9. Good luck

Theres a Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44 FFP MRAD in the classifieds for $1100. I have one in MOA and love it. I guess the only downside is their warranty is for original owner only.

Reading this thread makes me think that I am in need of a Rokslide 12 step program…
The only scope listed on this thread that I don’t own or have on order is the LRHS
So, at least in my opinion, for the OP this is a pretty comprehensive list of excellent scope options!!

You could always sell one of those scopes to help distance yourself from your addiction

Trijicon fits the bill. That would be my choice.

I was too when I used Leupold and vortex that need the warranty

In reality, the LRHS is a great scope but warranty is not good. The original is no longer in production and the LRHS2 is a special run that they do for one company (GA precision). Bottom line is if you break one Bushnell will offer you something different (not as good) for replacement.

SWFA is great, if the have the replacement in stock. Some models they make have historically had spotty availability with months or sometimes years where they are not in stock. They have been a lot better over the last year or so, but those scopes are very robust and rarely need warranty service.

Maven and ZeroTech by all accounts I've seen are in the same category as Leupold/Athlon/Vortex in terms of warranty. They will take care of you with no hassle.
