Hello, I am looking for good quality scope covers for my sons Nikon 4-12-40 scope. I have seen the Butler Creek, Leupold, and Vortex on Cabelas website but do not have any place local to get my hands on them and feel the difference. Are they pretty much all the same? What are you guys using and how do you like them? Thanks.

Matt

The Leupold covers I believe are specific to their scopes. To my knowledge you’re gonna have to go butler creek. They have multiple options to choose from.

Aadland caps are MUCH higher quality than Butler Creek. IF they make them for your particular scope. If not listed, he may make them on request. And you may wait a bit before you get them. And they aren't cheap. But the wait and $s are worth it. Next to Leupold's (which IMO are the VERY best), Aadland are a close second.

I quit using Butler Creeks and switched anything not covered by neoprene cover to Vortex Defenders. Much better IME.

I still use some Butler Creeks, but this. Only thing I like about the Butler Creeks over the Vortex Defenders is the eyepiece opening mechanism.

Not all scope covers are created equal.

Aadland and Tenebraex are top of the line. Butler creek are your more budget friendly option.

Back ordered for my SWFA fixed, but can't wait to get these. 270 degree opening swing completely out of the way and won't open on their own, fall off, or move out of rotation. USA made and lifetime guarantee. My scope was less than $200 on Black Friday, but would be worthless if broken. Could ruin a $5000 hunt!
