How to size lens covers

I recently purchased a Leupold Mark 4 HD 6-24x52. I will be using this scope for a Mule Deer hunt in Wyoming this September. I've never put flip up covers on a scope and think that may serve me well. I ordered some covers online and they turned out to not fit.

How do you figure out the correct lens cover size to buy? Apparently knowing that it has a 52 mm lens is not enough.

If you have recommendations on flip covers that have worked well for you, I would be interested to know that as well.

Thank you for any help.

I have a cheap set of digital calipers that read in fractions, decimals and millimeters.
Measure the outside of the ocular and objective ends of the scope.
Then match those measurements as close as you can to the covers of your choice.
I’ve had good luck with the Vortex Defenders.

I’ve found that cheap calipers are very handy for guns stuff like this.

A quick glance didn't show your model but they may have some that fit. I use these on several different scopes and they are definitely a step up from the butler creek flip caps. May be worth shooting them an email as I have found their customer service to be responsive and helpful.

Buy them from Leupold, they are the best for your scope. Alumina covers.

Vist each Brand of Covers Website they will clue you into what Size is needed. Been using Bulter Creek for 31 years and Never had a Set not be the right size just by going with the Scope Eyepiece and Objective Sizes.

Hope that gives some help
