Rifle holder Pack attachemnt

I have the Stone Glacier rifle sling, with an added strap from the butt holder to the opposite side of my backpack that keeps the rifle from flipping around while I hike.
Would you share a picture to show how you added the strap?

I’ve used the kifaru for a few years, tried the SG a few times. SG required me to take my pack off to put the rifle in the sling. Kifaru is good but you can feel the weight of the rifle

I’ve landed on, if I’m in the dark, I put the rifle butstock in the backpack water bottle holder and strap it to the pack. If I’m walking in the day light where there’s a chance for a shot, I put the rifle in the kifaru bearer

Sure, I should have done that up front. First, I use a loop of paracord from the bottom of the sling to the far strap on the bottom of the pack. This keeps the butt end of the rifle tighter to the pack.

Secondly, ive added heat shrink tubing to the webbing supporting the butt sling, which nearly eliminates annoying twisting of the butt sling, keeping it facing outward all the time for easier rifle insertion.

Also, in case anyone is wondering, my pack is sewn up from a long tumble down a mountain, and the damage does not reflect poor material quality!

It's probably been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I've settled on the Kifaru GB for the bottom and the Slik Sling strap for the top on my K4 (I also have the option to use the Exo pack strap attachment). I do like the Kifaru, but got really tired of the rifle sticking out in front of me. But I disliked how tight the Exo gunstock bucket is.

Thanks for sharing. This plus a sling may also work very well and I’m going to give it a try and report back.

I’ve been using the Kifaru Gun Bearer for the past 8 years, it has never failed me. It’s been so good I’ve never had any reason to consider something different.
