Rifle Ejects into Windage Turret- Best 1” Scope or ??

I have a Sauer 200 chambered in .270 that shoots lights out. It currently sits with a Leupold VX6HD 2-12 on it. The trouble is that the rifle ejects into the windage turret, causing the spent brass to land back in the chamber. I spent hours with different rings trying to find a mounting position that allows it to eject properly, and ultimately did. However, the scope is just too high and too far forward to get a good cheek weld. I’m am considering the idea of switching to a scope with a 1” tube and am wondering if anyone here has a recommendation? Or perhaps some other suggestion that I haven’t thought of?

The larger diameter scope tubes were/are designed for dialing capability. A 1-inch scope will do you no harm shooting a 270 Winchester with respect to ballistics and dialing with a 1-inch scope versus a 30 mm, IMO.

When in the field and shooting game, you are not going to control how fast you cycle the bolt to avoid an issue with respect to ejection. The problem needs to be fixed with a scope that solves the problem. Again, bolt cycling can't be expected to be controlled in the field cycling the bolt for a follow-up. Maybe a larger diameter tube will still work but choose one without a windage turret.

If that rifle has a Sako type extractor you can probably change the ejection angle by filing a corner of the extractor. The filing work might depend on where the ejector is clocked. You could buy a couple of spare extractors to experiment with as they are not usually expensive items.

I considered this as well. If I could find a few extractors this would be a great idea! Unfortunately parts are extremely difficult to come by for these rifles, unless I am missing something. It makes me too uneasy to file on the one good extractor that I have.
