Alright guys, the more I read the more confused I get.

I’m building a new lightweight rifle. Caliber will be 6.5x284 as I love the caliber and have piles of lapua brass.

I’ve got a Mack bros element LA ordered.
It will wear a trigger tech trigger.
I want to use a mdt hnt26 chassis and that’s where my questions start. Is there a magazine that will work with 6.5x284 and that will work with this stock? Will the 30-06 mag work?

Also, how light of steel barrel can I use without it looking stupid in this chassis? Currently the plan is to use a KP #4 contour barrel. Specs found here.
