Return to fixed blade knives. MKC worth it?

I ended up buying a mini speed goat and a super cub this year. Magnacuts. Definitely was worth it. I love the Super Cub as a bush knife. It was also good for skinning my bull out.
Been using a Tyto for years for meat work. That Mini speed goat is just a more durable Tyto.

I carry the Supercub on my pack strap and the Mini in the kill kit.

They are boogie. But got dang they're nice!!!

Processed two elk back to back with my CRK Backcountry. The micarta handle and the ~3oz weight ratio was just what I needed after a lot of blood covered the knife and a long day of hiking. Ended up selling the CRK as the lack of a contoured style handle wasn’t my favorite- but the length to weight ratio was spot on

Too bad MKC doesn’t offer micarta handles or options outside of the g10.

Clint lives in Strathmore, Alberta, Canada. Few hours north of Montana.

His email is [email protected]

He makes really nice knives, as do many of the makers who post here. A number of the guys on 24hr campfire have ordered from Clint and are very happy.

It is nice to be able to have choices where you know you are going to get an heirloom quality knife for less than a MKC.
Add me as a fan of Clint’s knives. I own or have owned knives from Ingram, Dozier, Menefee, Crotts, and a quite a few other custom makers. I’ve owned two of Clint’s knives and his are equal to any of the big name custom makers that I’ve owned knives by. I sold one of Clint’s knives only because I wanted a different blade pattern. I used the one I currently have to bone out a small whitetail buck this past fall, including all joint work. It was still impressively sharp afterwards, I could have easily done another buck without touching it up. Mine is in Magnacut. I’d highly recommend him and he’s first rate to do business with. I won’t sell the one I currently own.

If the Argali magna cut carbon ever comes back in stock, I'm prob gonna pull the trigger.
I used one of these in Magnacut to bone out a different whitetail buck this fall. Very nice knife that did not need a touch up to get the job done, and could easily do a second buck. Very pleased with this knife as well.
