**Results are in** REAPER vs AIRLOCK vs PTR VENT 1 vs NOMAD TI-XC vs DD ENTICER LTI TITANIUM SHOOTOUT

The entire process was detailed and explained, along with the what, how and why. You can find it by reading the initial post.

That is interesting since the db(a) ratings are

DD LTi 124
DD STi 128
AL ZG 6.5 129.5
AL ZG 7 128.5

But when I shot the ZG6.5 and DDsti side by side the ZG was noticeably quieter although the ratings don’t reflect that. With newer suppressor technology like Airlocks there seems to be more to it than just comparing DB(a) ratings between cans now.
Correct. Pew Sciences gets way into the weeds on this stuff. There is more to it than one single DB number

Yes, I posted it some pages back. It is the actual scoring sheet.
FWIW, I ordered two airlocks ZG's last November before I saw any of this. I made my decision based mostly on "Mark at EXO" (Mark Huelsing) feedback. Looks like I made a decent selection for a lightish weight hunting rifle. Thanks Mark!

I read the first four pages of this forum post including the test results which did not include information on dB testing - unless I missed it. I did read the testing criteria. I, like some others, are wondering about the DB testing. Not to nitpick anything, I just have a scientific mind (and training) and find that sort of thing interesting.

I also wonder if RS has a way for a forum "OP" to "pin" key reference information at the beginning of a forum post and to update that pinned reference information over time if they desire. There are so many great RS threads or whatever they are called that turn into great "novels" and have key events / information buried in the middle. And yet folks seem to expect the guy that show up on page 200 to have read each of the prior 200 pages (this is not a criticism of you or this thread which is only at 15 pages now...it is really just an observation about something that probably has a simple solution).

Forums are a poor method to create archival information - similar to text messaging. A solution might be some kind of "pinning" or companion link to hold key data. Don't misunderstand me, I love the RS forum posts and all the great information in them.

The DD Enticer LTI rated 129.59 at the TBAC Summit with 20” barrel and .308. It’s hardly surprising that the Airlock sounded better than it.

I am curious to see how Airlock’s suppressors do at TBAC this August.

I tested the ZG 6.5. I did not think it was quieter than the LTi we compared it to. It’s also smaller volume than the ZG7 so it makes sense.

Still a good can, I have one on order. I’d say it compares good with current 6-7” cans on the market (scythe, omega, ultra7, etc).

You have a ZG 6.5 on order?

I'm very undecided on which can to get. It'll be swapped between a 20" 6UM and a 22" 6.5 Sherman Max. I want as small, quiet, and durable as possible obviously. As long as it's still hearing safe I'd sacrifice a little decibel for compaction and durability.

Yes. I was able to test one back in November. I compared it with a bunch of cans I and a few others had.

It was impressive for its size.

If 6.5 is the largest hole you need….i think it’s a solid choice. Plan to use mine on 6.5C, 6C, 223.

I do think a nomad TiXC may be a tad quieter for similar stats. But frankly this is over an inch shorter and a few oz lighter. It’s worth it.

ZG 6.5 it'll be most likely.

I have a TBAC Magnus S .375 if I need larger than 6.5 for the time being.

I wonder how the ZG 6.5 will hold up to the 6UM's "uncorking" pressure.

i would've liked to see the Rugged AK 360 Ti in the mix as well as the Scythe.

The Alaska 360 TI won’t compete that’s why it’s not in the mix and the Scythe ti is pretty decent but still isn’t as good and nobody cares either way either the reputation they have now of coming apart…

US isn’t only able to be purchased off of the website. I’m getting more dealers every week. PM’s are always open if anybody wants me to reach out to a suppressor dealer close to them.

If somebody is not wanting to order one because of their dealer transfer fee, shoot me a pm and I’ll make up for that.

But give us 6-12 mo, probably less and this will be a completely different conversation at the rate that we’re growing and the products we have coming out.

Appreciate the support gents!

@ID-Muley Put in a good word for me. JK… 😉
Thank you for helping get my suppressor dealer set up.

Can you elaborate on what exactly you meant by that statement please?

I’m saying for Rokslide members if they don’t have a dealer near them that carries our suppressors, I’m willing to give some kind of discount normally that will cover the cost of the transfer fee of what their FFL/SOT charges to help ppl on here out. I always prefer people going to our dealers first but if that’s the difference of someone making a purchase if not, pm me.

But we are getting some really fantastic dealers and we are growing fast so there’s more and more options all the time. We have a couple Rokslide sponsors that carry mostly the Reaper as well I’d love to point ppl in their direction.

Or Capital Armory carries the Reaper if somebody doesn’t live near a FFL/SOT at all. Plenty of options and hope this answers your questions!

Take care.

Ok, well that’s a little different. I just picked up an Daed Air Nomad Ti XC and so I get it. That can is a few inches longer though then the Ultra 5.

However, I was replying to the “I would not take an Ultra 5 if it was free to me” statement, which I think is silly. An Ultra 5 on a .308 compared to a bare muzzle is still a significant difference. In a hunting situation where your’re only firing one, maybe two shots, one will make your ears ring for a day and the other will not….
The Ultra 5 hate is a little over done imo. I was out shooting my 280 with it yesterday and it gives me a decent amount of recoil reduction and it’s obviously still significantly quieter then bare muzzle. Not a fan of muzzle breaks so it works ok. I agree now it’s obsolete to so many other cans. The hate should be directed towards the price. $1100 for that thing is insane

The nomad xc is a little over an inch longer and an ounce heavier with direct thread.

I wouldn't take an ultra 5 if it was free because I have other cans and I'd never use it. If I didn't have a single can and an ultra 5 was free, you're right, it's better than nothing.
