**Results are in** REAPER vs AIRLOCK vs PTR VENT 1 vs NOMAD TI-XC vs DD ENTICER LTI TITANIUM SHOOTOUT

The entire process was detailed and explained, along with the what, how and why. You can find it by reading the initial post.

That is interesting since the db(a) ratings are

DD LTi 124
DD STi 128
AL ZG 6.5 129.5
AL ZG 7 128.5

But when I shot the ZG6.5 and DDsti side by side the ZG was noticeably quieter although the ratings don’t reflect that. With newer suppressor technology like Airlocks there seems to be more to it than just comparing DB(a) ratings between cans now.
Correct. Pew Sciences gets way into the weeds on this stuff. There is more to it than one single DB number

Yes, I posted it some pages back. It is the actual scoring sheet.
FWIW, I ordered two airlocks ZG's last November before I saw any of this. I made my decision based mostly on "Mark at EXO" (Mark Huelsing) feedback. Looks like I made a decent selection for a lightish weight hunting rifle. Thanks Mark!

I read the first four pages of this forum post including the test results which did not include information on dB testing - unless I missed it. I did read the testing criteria. I, like some others, are wondering about the DB testing. Not to nitpick anything, I just have a scientific mind (and training) and find that sort of thing interesting.

I also wonder if RS has a way for a forum "OP" to "pin" key reference information at the beginning of a forum post and to update that pinned reference information over time if they desire. There are so many great RS threads or whatever they are called that turn into great "novels" and have key events / information buried in the middle. And yet folks seem to expect the guy that show up on page 200 to have read each of the prior 200 pages (this is not a criticism of you or this thread which is only at 15 pages now...it is really just an observation about something that probably has a simple solution).

Forums are a poor method to create archival information - similar to text messaging. A solution might be some kind of "pinning" or companion link to hold key data. Don't misunderstand me, I love the RS forum posts and all the great information in them.

The DD Enticer LTI rated 129.59 at the TBAC Summit with 20” barrel and .308. It’s hardly surprising that the Airlock sounded better than it.

I am curious to see how Airlock’s suppressors do at TBAC this August.

I tested the ZG 6.5. I did not think it was quieter than the LTi we compared it to. It’s also smaller volume than the ZG7 so it makes sense.

Still a good can, I have one on order. I’d say it compares good with current 6-7” cans on the market (scythe, omega, ultra7, etc).

You have a ZG 6.5 on order?

I'm very undecided on which can to get. It'll be swapped between a 20" 6UM and a 22" 6.5 Sherman Max. I want as small, quiet, and durable as possible obviously. As long as it's still hearing safe I'd sacrifice a little decibel for compaction and durability.

Yes. I was able to test one back in November. I compared it with a bunch of cans I and a few others had.

It was impressive for its size.

If 6.5 is the largest hole you need….i think it’s a solid choice. Plan to use mine on 6.5C, 6C, 223.

I do think a nomad TiXC may be a tad quieter for similar stats. But frankly this is over an inch shorter and a few oz lighter. It’s worth it.
