Restocked SWFA 3-9x42 Gen 1

I ordered a set of these. The ocular cap was way too small (I ended up cracking the plastic by forcing it on).

Ocular size I received was 1.575”. MKM said SWFA provided the measurements.

MKM was great and mailed me out a larger ocular cap (1.673” but it was just slightly too large). I had to tape the ocular end in order to get it to fit tight enough to not spin or fall off.

Anyone get a set and have this issue?

Had the exact same issue but my measurement after breaking the small on measured 1.629 on the ocular, and I contacted so she sent me a 1.634 for replacement and it’s perfect.
Just ordered a second set and just put it in the notes so hoping I receive the 1.634”

Depending on how I measure, I get between 1.625” and 1.635”.

I’ve asked for 1.634” replacement.

22lr's and 223s get cranked a lot. Have maxed out the elevation more than a handful of times just seeing what can be done.

Getting lost in turret land is a real thing. :ROFLMAO:

Come to think of it. I got lost in turret land with a 300RUM an a 12x as well!

Haven't tried it with mine, but nylon washers might work for zero stop. I use them on four 6X SWFAs. Personally don't turn these far enough to matter.

Hey, mine looks just like that ;). I did have the same issue. MK machining seems to be on the ball with customer service.

You could try sending the $27 for the shim kit with your information to the same email through PayPal. That's what the email he sent said to do. Include scope info, including Mil/MOA, and address. I got the shims a handful of days later.

Another data point for a smooth transaction with Tim. I just purchased a couple sets on fleabay and put in the notes I needed them for 3-9. He got back to me to confirm what he was sending and it was easy as pie.

His eBay listing says "We support only the fixed power models and the 3-15." Has that changed? Where did you add a note?

I just followed the steps to purchase the item and on the purchase page there is an option to add a note to seller.

Yes, much better grip. Still stiff but much more usable compared to relying on just the scallops for traction.

To put it another way: without the band, I had to be cognoscente of how I had my grip on the zoom ring to move it. With my two scopes, it required a c-grip, and was pretty clumsy to actuate. However with the band, I can use two fingers without giving the action much attention.

I should note, I used the smallest ranger band. Only about an inch across when not stretched. I rolled them over the eye piece with a good deal of effort then straightened them out, but they are not going anywhere now that they’re in place.

I haven’t given a throw lever a second thought since installing them.
Tried some ranger bands. This is 100% the ticket. It changed how much I like my 3-9's.

Thanks!
