I’m not a big fan of the bino harnesses that are currently being offered so I figured I would make my own.

I’ll start by saying that I don’t know how to sew very well so there is problem one. Problem two is that my wife is really good at sewing, but doesn’t have a machine for sewing kit.

However, there’s a dude in town that does have a machine and does this sort of thing professionally.

With that in mind I take my ideas to him and he makes them a reality.

Now to the kit……

I have a few chest rigs that I’ve turned into bino harness. They were easy and work really well.

I like it. That’s how most of my stuff got designed. Repurposing to make something I like better than what is made.

I agree that bino harnesses have kinda gotten weird to me. I like some things but I want it more like a kit than a dedicated pouch that you add stuff to it.

I have been running a similar setup. Modified a cheapo bino case to work with a chest rig I already had. I am able to set it up for various platforms as well. Thanks. I was looking into trying to piece together a new one recently. Just could not find a bino pouch that I liked. Then settled on using this setup again for the season. I think the spiritus systems GP pouches with padded insert look like they might be a decent option for a bino pouch. If I end up building out another one this year I will try to remember to post it.
