Other than Pure Precision what are some good after market stocks that are around a similar price point and lightweight?

What’s the recoil like on it? I was thinking of 7BC or .300wm build
The gun, with that stock, weighs almost exactly 9 lbs. I had a limbsaver recoil pad put on it. I’m shooting 180 grain accubonds at just over 2900 fps.

I also have a 30:06 Tikka Hunter and am developing a load with 150 grain accubonds at 2950 fps.

There is very little noticeable difference in recoil between the two set ups. I’m 6’1” and a fairly fit 220 lbs and while there is some kick, I do not find it obnoxious.

Macmillan’s are so expensive compared to other stocks. There a reason to choose those over stockys or pure precision?
None are exactly cheap these days, Manners also builds a nice stock but even more $$$ For a trad style stock the Hunters Edge from McMillan is nice IMHO and you can find them on sale on occasion.

If laminate is in your scope, we are working on a laminate stock that is a smash up of the Bravo and Master Sporter. The grip and other design will make it recoil better.

Weight will help too, but we don’t want it heavier than it needs, so we will also skeletonize the butt to drop some weight.

With those calibers, the added weight over a carbon fiber will shoot better but carry heavier.

What style features do you want?

Yeah the only things that turns me away from laminate is usually the weight. Plus I’m a fan of the more vertical style grips instead of the classic style hunting stock.

Same, so we are doing a vertical grip. We will also do a carbon fiber of similar form factor, just not skeletonized.

Peak 44 black tooth is worth the money. I am thinking of trying the new Seekins hunter chassis for its folding stock capability.

I also have a Boyd's on my old budget built Tikka 300wm. It's a fun gun and a real killer. Not the lightest stock. I will say that before the muzzle break, the recoil was intense and I was glad the gun had a little weight. I did have to dremel out some material to make a good solid bedding area, imo. But it's a solid stock and the gun shoots very well. The thumbhole grip is not exactly the most ergonomic in that the trigger reach is a little far. With bipod weighs about 9.8 lbs18234818-74fc-42b4-bc9b-d53fcd5c3e98-1_all_10493.jpg
