Replacement for nightforce SHV

The past few years I've bought a few of the discontinued 3-10 side parallax shv scopes. I have yet to buy the current illuminated model, although I'm not against it.

Wondering if or when they discontinue all shv scopes, what would be the next best thing?

For a pure hunting scope I fin the shv 3-10 hard to beat. I run it with a 200 yard zero and holdovers to 250/300 or 325 depending on what matches up, pop a cap and dial after that. I'm one of the people who love a capped turret, never have to worry about bumping a turret and they dial.

Same here, that's why I've picked up a few. Looking for the next best thing in case they get discontinued. Always used market I guess, sometimes when things are no longer avalable people hold onto them or are pretty proud of them.

The 2.5-10x40 Huron doesn't look like a terrible option. Just wondering if it would hold up to dialing.

I have a 5x20x56 SHV I'm going to sell and replace it with a Accupoint 3x18 . I have the Accupoint on another rifle and prefer it for hunting , mostly the green dot reticle .
I've hunted with both for a couple years and decided to go to the same scopes on both rifles .

I have one of the 3-10 SHVs and a pile of SWFA 3-9s. I prefer the SWFA by a mile because it’s FFP, has a better reticle and comes in mils. Anything MOA is a deal breaker.

I wish I would have gone mils in the beginning... I'm all moa and feel like I'm kinda stuck there.

Let's hope they make a 3-12 in both mills and moa. I run both and while I do agree in a range environment I find mills to be faster, once you know your dope I see no difference. Same for FFP, love them for the range but prefer a 2nd focal for hunting. Practice with whatever you chose and have confidence in your system, don't overthink things.

The Hurons are great scopes. Good prices too at EO. I run a couple in addition to the SHV’s. Can’t go wrong with either.

Ever crank on the elevation turret? I don't dial a ton, but fun to mess around with at the range.

I don’t dial as my primary use is for hunting out to about 300 yards. However, I don’t think dialing would be a problem, it has a pull up reset to zero on the turrets. I’ll give it a shot next time at the range.
