Suburbans have considerably less ground clearance and road tires to maximize fuel economy.. Sooooooo YMMV

So that front air dam might take some damage if your off a paved surface
Valid point on the air dam. We ended up with a Tahoe one time instead of our reserved full size truck. We had to be real careful off pavement. We weren't careful enough. Ended up tearing passenger side loose.

Yep show me a truck that doesn’t have a front air dam, especially the model that you can rent. I bet the ground clearance and tires are the same on either from a rental company. But if you are worried about it check and see

Of course, if you’re worried, you could always just pop the plastic Christmas tree plugs at the lower air dam and take it off until you return it. I’ve had half of one get ripped off and I just pushed it back in with the plugs.
