I did a sponge paint patter on my carbon fiber stock then clear coated it with rustoleum clear coat. Is there anything I can do to remove the clear coat and paint without damaging the carbon fiber and epoxy coat on it?

I accidentally got some acetone on a factory painted Stocky’s stock one time and it removed the paint in that spot. After looking into it, it seemed like the wiping with acetone would not likely harm the actual stock. I ended up rubbing the rest of the paint off using acetone without incident. Would I recommend soaking the stock in acetone? No. Just sharing that wiping the paint off in that case was easy and worked well. You could also call the stock maker and see what they say. I’d be more worried about getting into trouble sanding.

I called them then they directed me to the Cerakoters that spray the paint. I left a message, but haven’t gotten a reply. I read about acetone, but some said it was too harsh. I’m glad to hear it didn’t mess yours up. I might have to give it a try.

You could also try TSP, the real trisodium phosphate, not the substitute.

I had an old Toyota that was rattle canned, and was attempting to degrease some stuff after working on it, and it melted the rustoleum spray paint right off.

Acetone won’t hurt the carbon. I use it to degrease before painting. It should take your paint off easy.
Decided to change it up already? It looks good to me!

Why not rough it up with sand paper and rattle can it again. I removed the cerakote on a Rokstock with 220 on an orbital sander worked perfect.
