Removing peeling seam sealer

So last weekend i bought a used Black Diamond megamid at the NOLS sale. Overall the fly is in great condition the only issue is thag they had seam sealed the outside of the fly and it has started peeling. What i would like to do is remove the old seam sealer and re-seal it. So does anyone have any tips or tricks to remove all old seam sealer?

I don’t know but think rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover would work , might test a spot ???
