As much as I hate to say it, even as expensive as it is, that is a really good deal for those. Thanks for sharing.

If you don’t mind getting your teeth knocked around…here’s a steal. I’ve order a couple cases from them n the last couple years.

Are you saying you have shot these and they shoot well? Price definitely looks good if they shoot good. Recoil similar to 3.5” lead shot?

I’ve shot the 7/9 blend for several years, but I’ve heard the 10/8 is similar. It’s similar to most 3.5 lead rounds. They all just whomp ya. I shoot a small light pump gun which doesnt help matters.

I always kick myself…75% of my birds you could kill with dove loads. But it’s hard to beat the kinetic energy of tungsten. Especially when ur paying 250 for out of state tags now

I’ve switched to shooting turkeys with Federal 20 ga 3”TSS #9. It patterns extremely well and they go bang flop every time; I’ve even filled both tags at once with them. My only complaint is the occasional #9 shot in the meat—they’re hard to find until you bite down. I’ve thought about trying #7 for this reason. 12 ga 3.5” seems excessive to me, I shoot tss because some properties require nontoxic, but appreciate the ease in shooting it too out of a 20ga.

How so? Just curious.

They don’t pattern near as well as Apex or other more boutique rounds. I as well as a few friends all tried a few “factory” offerings and had similar experiences. They just don’t pattern NEAR as tightly as apex has for me. And I tried them in 2 different 20 ga.

I never had good luck with the old Federal flight control wads out of my turkey rigs but I've never shot these new flex wads. I shoot 3.5" 12ga loads and would be really interested in knowing if anybody has had any direct luck with these same 3.5" loads? Maybe some of the specialized TSS brands have a better load out to maximum distance but I'd be more interested in knowing how these perform out to maybe 50yds??

I've noticed the same thing out of my franchi affinity 20ga. Apex 1-5/8 #9's are my go to load. Remington and federal just don't pattern well for some reason.

I bought some federal flight control 7 tss 2 3/4 inch 20 gauge loads years ago for song on clearance. Used them for my girls but they patterned so well out of my Mossberg 20 and anaconda pattern master choke I still use them. Smoked a rio at a legit 61 yards last spring. I never shoot that far I usually get them like 20 yards away and had only patterned to 50 yards and it was good. I took him as he was hung up on a fence and more importantly I noticed that the tree I was against had a fire ant mound and they were stirred up so I had to close the deal quickly.

Honestly I have some nickel plated lead 5s that pattern well to 50, but not like tss 7.

Roger's has 28 gauge Apex on sale too.
Thanks Kolky,
I did a bit of sniffing around, a few buys out there for 28gauge...

Those apex patterns are impressive—I’d definitely give them a try next. It’s amazing what modern ammo can do—it’s almost too tight of a pattern for close range even though that’s how we try to hunt. I know a guy that prefers to use his Winchester Long Beards when the bird is at 35 yards. I got carried away reaping at the end of the season—thought the birds were closer than they were and dropped 2 birds—1 at over 60 and the one behind him close to 70–oops I’ll try to avoid that in the future…

For less than 6 bucks a round it’s hard to judge without just trying them…that’s 1100 pellets in the 10/8 blend. I’d challenge you to stick a turkey head in that pattern at 50 and see if it survives.
