Hi,
I have a Remington Model 7 in 7 Saum. When I first bought the rifle a few years ago, I had the barrel shortened to 20" and fluted. The original was 22", shot quite well and still does, but with the change in weight and barrel length, it is less enjoyable to shoot. I have considered rebarreling to another 7 saum or maybe a 6.5 prc, however, I believe the coal needs to be under 2.800. The rifle would mostly be used for whitetail, mule deer, maybe a caribou or moose. I like to keep it fairly compact for still hunting, so I would probably stick to 21". Being in Canada, suppressors aren't an option so I would not get the barrel threaded. Thoughts? I reload, so that doesn't matter. I would even consider a wildcat.
