Remington 760 new to me

Just got it from lgs.
Serial number shows made between 1975-1978.

Runs pretty smooth. Will be taking this scope off and going w something a bit more modern.

The scope says micro trac and is 3-9

Excited to take it to the woods this year.

It is the 30-06 flavor.

Nice. I’ve always wanted one of the Carbine versions from that same mid-late 70’s era. Preferably a 300 Savage or 35 Rem.

Scope looks like an old steel tube Weaver. Does it have a perfectly round field of view or is it oblong like a tv?

It’s round for sure. Pretty damn clear. Is there a market for them used?

The 22 I learned to shoot with that was my grandpa's is now mine and has those things. I swapped them out and realized why it has them, the bolt handle wont clear a scope without them.

Luckily I don’t have a boot handle. Most of the time if low mounts won’t clear a bolt handle guy can try mid, or you can try adjusting the scope backwards a little. The 22 shouldn’t have much recoil to negate when it comes to getting kissed by a scope
