Wife passed on a Savage axis at $45 this morning. Thinking most inventory is now gone.

No clearance guns left at the Walmart in Johnsburg, IL. I made two trips today. At 1pm they told me the guy who does the transactions and knows how many are left wouldn’t be in till 3pm and when I went back this evening they were out. The guy told me they sold about a dozen today.

Bought a Henry Golden Boy 44 mag for $170 yesterday along with 2 Savage Axis 2 heavy barrel 223s for $80 each, and a savage axis in both 22-250 and 308 for $50. The kicker is that there is currently a $50 rebate on all the savage axis models. So 2 free guns and 2 $30 guns.

You should feel guilty! Nice buy! Let me know if you are looking for someone to take that golden boy off your hands...what was the location?

Yep, I remember going through this last year around this time. Most stores around here sold out last year and never replenished their stock. I picked up Savage bolt 12 & 20 gauge shot gun for around $100.

This was in Fort Collins, CO. I was pretty lucky on the Golden Boy. Most of them were grabbed at the $400 price point, but the manager said they held that one for somebody because they were having computer issues. They held it for 2 or 3 weeks and had just released the hold the day before I came in and got it. Neither of the managers knew about the most recent price drop and all the tags still had the roughly 50% off price on there.

Excellent info about the savage rebate. I believe Remington also has rebates for those lucky enough to get the 700s and 770s on clearance. I think it is safe to say northern Illinois has been cleaned out

I went back to my Walmart in West Burlington, and the same rifles had new barcodes on them, all back to the regular price.

However, the Savage bolt action shotguns were still clearance - 12 gauge bolt action - $139 ($537 sticker price) and 20 gauge bolt action - $124.

I did not purchase them, so they are still there for the pickin'!

That’s highway robbery. I’m tempted to drive over there and clean house. Lol!

Wow. I'd pay some one a few bucks to buy it and ship to my FFL!!! Sucks to live in a communist state.

Well I lucked out at a Walmart here in Colorado. Picked up the last Savage Axis 243 for $49. I had to really push them to go to the back and pull the gun out. With the Savage $50 rebate...this was the craziest deal I’ve ever found. They also had a scoped Rem 770 in 243 for $54...but I shared the love and let the guy behind me buy it. Only in America can you be paid $1 to buy a rifle.

My friend got 16 rifles in Virginia... I went to my Walmart yesterday in NC and guess they stopped selling firearms last year entirely. I hate Walmart but that was a good deal!

Paid $79 for a remington 700 in 223, and $99 each for remington 700 in 243 and 270. Goes nice with the 7mm mag i got last year.

Tossed the scope and mounts off the 223, put on a 6x SWFA and H335 with 50 blitzking puts 4 under an inch at 100. Its been the norm for most 700s for me. The trigger adjusted super easy down to a crisp 2 pounds. I'm happy even at $199.
