Reloading the 277 Fury 6.8x51 SIG Hybrid Case

Hahaha. I'll toss in 200 as well!

That etching is wild. I have a 22-250 AI barrel with about 800 rounds down the tube - I wonder how much work it'd take to use these fury cases in 22-250 AI. I wouldn't care about marking the chamber at this point in that barrel.

That is why I decided to use my 7-08AI. It already had quite a few rounds down it and I was already considering pulling it due to the fact that it is a Rem Varmint profile so it is pretty heavy. Looking to replace it with something a bit lighter anyway, so even if it does end up with this damage, I am not really out anything but the time and effort to conduct the experiment.

I took one of these cases and slowly ran it through my 6.5 CM FL die without the sizing button in place. Next step was my empty 6 CM die with .270 bushing, .261 bushing, then finally my .251 bushing. Still need to trim, but looking at it, I think I was able to leave a false shoulder at about the right location.

My empty 6 CM FL die ended up wrinkling the shoulder/neck junction, so the extra step of 6.5 CM seemed to work better.

Won't get around to confirming it these will work for 22-250 AI or not. I need to install the barrel again and don't feel like messing with my current set up until after the big game seasons this fall.

Well, at least my sizing die looks fine. I've formed or resized like 500 rounds with this.

@HandgunHTR, I have to pull my action from the stock to pull the barrel, so next time I'll try to polish that up. Didn't feel like a ridge though, just like the chamber was wider all the way below the 0.2" or wherever the steel base is.

They should work just fine for the 22-250AI, but just like the 6 Creed, the shoulder will have to be pushed back a bit. You should probably check the neck thickness on them when finished as they may be a bit thick.

I'd be shocked if you didn't need to neck turn for 22-250 AI, just FYI. I absolutely had to for 6.5 Creed.
I figured that’d more than likely be the case. I’ve never got into that, so we’ll see if I continue with the project haha.

FYI, the brass went back up in price a little, its 40% off now. I went ahead and bit but should have got off the pot yesterday.

I sent my barrel in to be cut and threaded. I'm going 20"...will put a Raptor or OG on it.

I'll be lagging behind. Still planning to nitride treat.

I'm ordering 168gr and 155gr TMK.

Do y'all see any reason to order 175 TMK? I have 1:10 twist.

I'm pretty sure 45-90 did some on SH. He used Lee lube for his sizing to make sure he didn't get any stuck cases. Honestly I'd be more incline to used 6 XC brass.

So after all the talk on this thread, I pulled my barrel and definitely have a gouge at the base of the chamber where the steel case head sits. This was after 233 rds of hybrid 6.5 CM.If I get bored I'll find some soft brass and fire it a few times, see how much it takes to get clickers.

It also makes me curious if I have the same in my dies, I've formed 300+ hybrid cases in my Type S die.

My take is who cares!

Barrels are expendable.

If you're committed to the fury case, it's just part of it, barrels are expendable.

If you want to mix fury and regular brass, why bother?
