What kind of speed difference has everyone seen with h1000vs n570 with 180s? I’ve been getting h1000 local but have been tempted to order some, 67.6 has been getting good results for accuracy but I’m floating at 2825-2850. Barrel has about 300 rnds on it

Mine did not like the tgk. I didn’t do a lot of experimentation with it but the 180 hybrid was much more accurate. 18” barrel.

I didn’t stand on H1000 but at 67gr I was at 2620 in my 18” barrel. Accuracy was great. I’ve got a full case of N570 and was averaging 2855 last trip out. Accuracy still great. Round count is at 243.

I worked up with h1000 to 68.7 And averaged 2917fps, accuracy was good and bolt throw was still easy. Very slight ejector marks tho

I’m not expecting a ton of barrel life with N570 and monitoring for excessive pressure. No stiff bolt lift with this load and the brass looks fine. Will reassess when I run out of Virgin brass and lower the charge for the once fired.

180 grain ELD M with 66.5 grains of N560 in ADG brass got me 2812 from a 20” barrel. I have 47 rounds through the barrel.

Has anyone tried Ramshot Grand? Hodgdon has it listed as the fastest powder for the 168 LRX.

I have not, because with my 168 I’m using reloader 26. But I only have about 70 loaded bullets, then I will have to find a new powder, so will be interested in your results.

I did try ram shot Magnum, and did not get the groups that I was looking for. 10 shot group was 2950fps but 1.8 MOA with .86 Mean Radius

From looking at Hogdon and Barnes sites, I am thinking that I will try StaBALL HD or Ramshot Grand and see what I get from those.

Did some test firing yesterday.
ADG new brass
Fed215
69g H1000
175 ELDX

Man... These bullets like to jump. Factory hornady 180eldm jumps .120 before hitting the lands on my rifle.

5 rounds at the following .120, .095, and .070 jump. Yes I know you're not supposed to care about jump but its a good starting point for setting up your dies and adjusting them when throats start to erode

.07 was like 2" group,
.095 was 1.25" group
.120 was sub 1" but my 3rd round was shot shortly after my first 2 'cold bore" shots. 3 shot drifted out and the last ones came back

Gonna load up 15 more rounds
.125, .120, .115 to see which ones are happiest

Speed is somewhere 2930 fps based on some velocity ladder readings i took with 180 bergers, but I wanted to hone in the seating depth before I took velocity readings
