Reloader 23 ….. and

I bit the bullet and bought 8lbs of RL 23 this week. So I am invested. I saw a lot of posts on multiple forums where guys love it in a 7 SAUM. I see others will use it in a 6.5 PRC. If you use it in either let me know what you learned, please. I have loads worked up for both calibers, but I really enjoy tinkering with new load development. It is kind of my happy place.

I use 56 grains of RL23 in my 6.5 PRC with berger 140 VLDs and get 3100fps and it shoots great.

I think I’m at 58-59 grains with a 175 elite hunter in my 7SAUM. Great accuracy node there, but 75fps or so slower than N560.

Midway had trail boss a coupe months ago. I loaded up.

Ya our local Scheels had RL16 in December. Had a lot, grabbed two 8lb'ers. They also had 23 but we had plenty already.


Powder Valley has 17 now. But it's in 1 pounders which I try to avoid.

ha, seems they have been getting RL23 and TS15.5 shipments in recent times. Not sure i've seen RL26 in a while..

Scheels had RL-26 sometime during the fall of 2025. Walked in and asked if they happened to have it - guy went in the back and asked how much I was looking for. I told him I’d take whatever they had and he then proceeded to give me the last 6# from the shipment. Felt like I hit the lottery haha.
