As the titles states, I got lucky almost two weeks ago on the Colorado reissue list, and now I have a pretty decent tag to fill.

The catch, is that I have limited days to get out and hunt, the last week of the season. So with time winding down, and bucks starting to move into the thick timber, they are getting exponentially harder to find.

I’m looking for some tips and tactics to hunting these more mature bucks in thick timber, or in transition areas, assuming it won’t be easy to glass them that late in the year.

Feel free to pm me if you want to talk in more detail. Thanks everyone in advance.

It’s been my experience that they big bucks will stay high until pressure or snow pushed them down. Atleast right along timber edge. My friend has said he finds them to hit the timber as soon as they lose velvet.
My advice is to stay high and focus just above timberline.
